The Viagra scene in the toilets was also excellent.

Overall length I thought it was very good, but not as good as I hoped.

I saw it at the weekend, watched the first one 3 weeks ago as a refresh. I enjoyed it but there were a few poor bits. I was not sure what to expect as I had not read any full reviews but I had seen a few headlines. I may be enjoyed it more as lots of the film was filmed in Edinburgh and in some of the scenes the city looked great. A friend of mine from school had a tiny part as the boxing trainer in the scene with Spud and he is not an actor or anything but great getting some locals involved. I would probably give it 7/10.

There is a bit in the trailer with prisoners cheering behind bars, that as far as I remember wasn't in the finished T2 film. Which also suggests a lot more was filmed in the prison (or a prison-like set) and then cut.
all filmed inside saughton prison! real prisoners, real prison guards, none made the cut!

I agree - loved the various distinctive Edinburgh scenes. Having been a student there it added to the nostalgic feel of the film for me. Pretty sure Tom Kitchin's restaurant was in a scene as well!?

It was the same block, but I don't think Kitchin's has seating overlooking the Victoria Quay side of the building. It might have been Bistro Provence.

I went in to this expecting the raw energy from the first film and initially felt a bit disappointed it wasn't there. However, as the days have passed since seeing it the film has very much grown on me as I have realised that it wasn't set out to be that way and is indeed a reflection on how we have all supposedly matured.

I also haven't been able to get the Wolf Alice track or Radio GaGa out of my head.

Saw it and thought it a slight improvment on the first TS although a bit disapointed in lack of sex scenes knowing Kelly MacDonald was to be in it again, . subjective of course, spud became my fav character ,the car left outside the prison. classic, all the boys are still hanging in there ready for number 3 maybe, black comedy at its best.

I'd like Sick Boy's BMW, to be honest. I imagine it'll sell for a bit more than I'd like to pay, though.

I'm sure £5k would snatch it up, as far as movie memerobilia it's not that much.

Finally got around to seeing this tonight (missed it in the main cinemas, didn't seem to be around long, and only just appeared in my little local one).

It was ... thoughtful, nostalgic, funny as hell in places.

I've been avoiding spoilers like the plague, although it seems the biggest spoiler is the first film wink
Would have liked a bit more variety on the soundtrack, a lot of the first film's re-used, re-mixed, slowed down... much like the rest of the film, actually.

When he first went home and his dad is sat with the shadow of his mother... serious shivers

If you were 20 and and had just watched TS and enjoyed the raw power of it, and then saw TS2 immediately, you'd be left completely cold. Me, though... well, I'll be 46 this year, same as Renton, so it fits me just fine.

As a T2:Trainspotting sequel I seriously doubt it, especially as the Begbie character in the movie shows no sign whatsoever of morphing into the one in the book and it would be too much of a leap for the audience to believe.

Blade Artist was Irvine Welsh's wrong turn, but a movie/TV series based on the story using a different character might work.

I thought it would be good redemption for his character potentially meeting spud again as seemed to genuinely think spud's writing was good

Spot on review!

Taken on it's own merits maybe it's not that good, I wouldn't recommend it to my 20 something work colleagues for example. But as a 40 something who loved the first film I thought it was pitched perfect.

It has left me feeling a little melancholic for my lost youth though.

Didn't manage to catch it at our local main cinemas, first weekend we got a babysitter and it had finished! Looking forward to it, hoping for the best.

Think Skakboys as a prequel would be much better than blade artist, thought that was exceptional and far better than transporting, porno and the rest of the set when it came to the books.

Just seen this.
I thoroughly enjoyed it. Probably more nostalgic than anything else. I think you would have had to been into the original film to enjoy it as much.
