Kevin seemed to spend more time with the bloke, divining and painting, perhaps seeing someone who looked much like himself awoke the true love in Kevin for himself rather than his empty life of impregnating every woman he meets (or my Malbec is stronger than usual).
You could be onto something there - further scrutiny will be required! hehe

Lovely place, a really nice job but it did strike me that trees do keep growing, how much pruning and control do they have with a tree that's got a preservation order on it?

If Kevin and Sarah Beeney ever do a program together the UK population will treble

Mainly because she is so fecund

Good camerawork to hide the fact that the site was on the edge of a supermarket car park.

Looks like a lifelong maintenance project to me.

I still liked it though but wouldn't want it for myself.

I enjoyed it, though I guess just the pace of the build, and the availability of the film crew meant it felt light on detail around the actual build, but I did think the end product was great - interested to see what it looks like come the middle of winter when most of those trees have shed their leaves. I also liked the friend with the barn ..

It was a lovely, genuine build and a perfect location.
not sure about the last bit, lets revisit during winter when the leaves have dropped and we have a lovely view of Sainsburys car park (or wherever it was)

enjoyed this one though, bit different and likeable couple who were sensible wit budget and admirably hands on

I thought it was lovely, with some nice design touches, and his ability to salvage stuff was quite impressive.

As above, you'll have some lovely views in the winter, whenthe clouds are low, and there's nowt to look at. Once the Summer comes, and those trees are in leaf, you won't have any views, and I suspect it might be quite dark inside, as you won't even see much sky.

And six months of the year slipping around in a foot of rotting leaf mulch... frown

Just an excuse to get a decent leaf blower for the collection of man-toys.

Assume it was build on the green section in the middle. Clever filming by them as you would never have guessed there was a supermarket next door.

Well yes, of course the perfect location is a tropical island somewhere off the coast of Kent, but they made the absolute most of a site, and designed the layout and windows to give you the view you'd like.

At the beginning my wife and I both commented, "WTF?!"

At the end, "Wow - even the old basketball flooring looks great!"

You have to admire the couples resolve to continue when faced with a number of problems. Clearly the place wasn't finished when Kevin went back, but still, an epic building - Sainsburys next door notwithstanding.

The house might be a wee bit exposed when the trees shed their leaves.

The blokes art, her tiles and the house were all good though.

Did the £290K spend include the £85K for the land?

The fact is, finding land and building a Grand Design is getting harder and harder.

Great bit of imagination to convert a bit of wasteland that local druggies and teenagers would have otherwise carried on using for shooting up and shagging.

You've got to admire their balls for paying so much for land that had no guarantee to get planning and then see it through.

According to the Mail it didnt:

The Mail said:
Couple bought the land between a supermarket and a church for £85,000
After gaining planning permission, they spent £270,000 building the magnificent treehouse

agreed, and somewhere on the outskirts of that town would have been a lot more expensive / impossible to build on
