They do love their wood, very successful build I thought, old cottage looked very cosy.

Stunning as it is, haven't they overlooked where they're going to put 3 kids in a 2 bed house?!

Lovely end result, like already said bit to woody inside.

I'm sure the extra sales from being on tv will pay for it all easily some of their furniture is stunning and I imagine expensive.

Yep, am not surprised that it is the old part of the building that is favoured for relaxing of an evening; escaping the overabundance of wood. A beautiful build nevertheless.

Yes its expensive.

£1,200 for the hanging chair, £600 for a dining chair, etc...

Yes a good series so far, the couple who did the French Manor House is still my favourite one.

Although there's a bit too much wood inside for my liking, can't deny that that is an absolutely stunning build

Impressive build, lovely attention to detail, beautiful lines - very refreshing. Unfortunately the flat roof and concrete makes it a little 'visitors centre' for me, but it sits very nicely in its setting.

I'm surprised there were any trees left standing after that.

I agree with the consensus here.Great overall but there comes a point when there is too much wood. I do wonder how they got planning and suspect they had a fall back plan in case they ran out of money.

Loved it overall but that and the work pressures really took it out of them.

They deserve to be proud and happy with all they've achieved.

I wonder if over time some of the wood will be painted, like they have in their bedroom, which would break it up a bit.

I much prefer the lower budget grand designs, particularly when the owners play a genuine part in construction. Anybody can build something spectacular for a million quid, takes a lot more to do something that unique for less than £200k.

£100k £160k ish for the build. Did they say how much the original lodge was?
160k 'plus some more money for outside'. Don't think they mentioned the plot cost - all their workshops are on site too so it was probably all bought as one lot. I think they started on tight budget which was revised upwards pretty quickly as their business took off.

Lovely house in a nice location. Good advert for their skills with wood too.

I hope all that exterior wood is suitably weatherproofed - I got the impression that they were prioritising using/showing off their woodbending skills over practicality.

I don't think it is as simple as this.

The couple had an ideal site. I doubt that was a cheap plot.

They clearly had some backup support in case things went wrong.

The headline figure of less than £200K makes for good entertainment but I doubt even they could do it again for anywhere near that amount.

Some of the detail figures were impressive. £13K for the slab and £27K for the frame. If that means they had a dry structure for £40K, that was good going.

When you compare this one to the one the previous week at over 4 times the build cost - this one was altogether better. Partly because this weeks integrated well with the existing structure and last weeks didn't.

Can't wait this weeks was superb but no drama. Bit of a delay but nothing major went wrong which was disappointing. Major gas leak next week!

I thought it was £31k (or thirty-something anyway)?

Yes, it was 'eco' concrete and cost 30 grand.
