The 2 female hunters were in the area looking for a different

pair, these 2 get spooked by them ,they go into their caravan

and get a knock on the door and lo and behold the hunters get a

pair they weren't expecting.

Not read the thread, but im sure they done something similar years ago except they didnt have a crew follow them around and they did it via handheld camera's (or did they have a crew?).

Think it was Ch.4 that did it

So each of the runners have their own personal camera-person?

New series starting, who is up for it?
Personally I wouldn't want my fb profile and other stuff figged about with.

So where did the plane go ?

Circled round a bit and back to Chobham or dropped the 4 clever clogs'

in some remote corner of nowhere ?

And did Emily and Lauren really run onto the airfield at the exact same time ?....scratchchin

I stopped watching a few weeks ago when it became clear the whole thing that was set up but I could hear it on the TV while I was cooking last night. Did they explain why the runners had to be 'extracted'?

Nope.

It was all a setup to introduce some false jeopardy at the end of the programme. In reality these 4 managed to evade capture, and without the 'extraction point' bks there wouldn't have been any tension at all at/near the deadline.

Made me laugh when one of the 'hunters' complained that one of the girls was cheating by not moving about and leaving evidence for them to find her!

I enjoyed the series, but the idea that fugitives would/would not be caught because their names would be on a manifest is laughable..... "Ah, Mr Biggs, you would have been stopped from going to Brazil because your name was on the manifest, however unfortunately we didn't quite get to the airport in time" yeah, right.

This would be my biggest concern - I think most of my "packing" would be pulling HDDs out of PCs to take them with me!

(I know in reality RIPA would apply and they'd just gain access that way)

Last night's episode was a bit weird. I thought their plane wasn't allowed to take off until 12:00, but they made a lot of the "let's go!" thing as soon as the two blokes had boarded the plane. And the hunter bloke appeared to turn up at the airport 10 minutes before the end time and wasn't able to find the plane, while our heroes legged it away from the entrance on arrival and found it straight away. biggrin

Ah well, it was entertaining. I liked the bit where the hunter bloke was saying how one of the women had just dropped off the radar, "like sitting still in a dark room". Isn't that the whole point? smile

I would guess so, since one held out her hand, but the other one didn't realise, or ignored her. biggrin

The bloke complaining about the hunted being still was amusing.

Also, how did the people know where to run to which plane? Why didn't the car drop the two fellas off near the airfield, instead of at the end of the road?

It was all a bit silly. Hope they sort out this stuff next series.

One of those TV series that seemed good on paper in execution was a bit pap.

I'm not so sure about that scripted/planned bit but certainly very contrived and only worked when the people on the run were a bit odd.

I'd imagine there was a meeting at some point when they realised all the stuff they wanted to happen couldn't and they were going to change the show into something like we got rather than the original good idea.

watched the last episode yesterday

seemed very odd that they didn't all get caught at the airport, seemed to me that the hunters had vehicles at strategic locations ready, the actual airport was on their list

the extraction point aspect is a bit pants and needs to be re-thought,
if anyone gives away the actual location (presumably the production crew stopped this happening) then it makes it far too easy to catch them

analysing the tactics/strategies used by the participants, no real suprises

one sneaky tactic would be to get a couple of cheap PAYG mobiles, use them to contact family/friends, but then give them away to some random person who moves around alot laugh

They said that. Once they had the general area, they could place cars nearby all the airfields applicable.

oh right, must have missed that !

Knowing it was Surry did tend to restrict the available options, there again, if the hunters hadn't known that, would have been pretty impossible for them
I'm guessing the production team 'organised' the leak for dramatic effect !

I enjoyed that!! Ive worked with lots of the tech they used and work in a similar industry to the hunters

It was obviously scripted and manufactured for TV, but I really enjoyed it for throwaway entertainment

I'd imagine there would be a small production team with handhelds per team/wanted person taking it in turns and then replicating things like "anpr" and shop cctv, which was a tv camera setup to mimic it.

I think it would be good if they did it properly and just gave the wanted people a go pro with a couple of batteries and less replicating "the state" and more just chasing them.

I'm sure ch4 did something similar 10+ years ago with Richard Littlejohn , where people went on the run for the week and then phoned the show "live" from a phonebox, the people chasing them would then have to find the phonebox in the "live" hour on the assumption they had been trailing them all week

Stop press found it.....https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wanted_(game_show)

Seems well ahead of its time, the above would be good to do again as its simpler and less mimicking "the state"
