Oh god that was bad. So sugar chooses the one that is less likely to lose much money (but will never make much money).
It's ok though as he makes £50 per call out (excluding costs of course) and will make a million in 5 years by flogging landlords renewable energy and smart thermostats because landlords are all over that at the moment.jinkster said:
Charlie Mullins - Pimlico Plumbers made a lot of money from plumbing.
I think he definitely chose wisely.
I agree. Not sure I see the sense in people who are derogatory about the plumbing business just because people are already doing it.I think he definitely chose wisely.
Vana's idea has a one in a million (if that) chance of getting millions of users and making millions of pounds of profit.

But he didn't pitch a very strong idea - he had renewable as his usp until told it wasn't going to work, then he picked up smart technology despite having never heard of it before (!) and finally he seemingly wanted to expand his current business by walking into estate agents in other big towns (and buy some vans and tools).Vana's idea has a one in a million (if that) chance of getting millions of users and making millions of pounds of profit.

Exactly. If you go into 'The Process' with a business plan, and then, at the eleventh hour, you bow to pressure and abandon it, then you have no business plan to pitch, so you're out.If he decided, at that final minute, to adopt renewables and smart tech, even if he'd never heard of it (Hive, anyone?), then why did his pitch say that the only way to expand his business is to open an office in a new town?
And he badly missed the slow ball he was thrown by the Chairman of Reed when asked how he'd ensure he'd get the right people. "Well, you have to make sure they don't leave."
