I think he was putting on a very good act, as a young girl who's been told she can't have a pony.

Amazed that Scott brought Brett back in to the boardroom as opposed to Selina, I thought Sugar seemed to be gunning for her.
If you get on the PM's side during the task, they aren't bringing you back in if they lose.

Not always the case, especially not at this stage.
Besides, she was whinging and moaning at him for taking her off selling and going to the wholesalers.
Don't think she got on anyone's side to be fair.

Didn't teams get penalised in previous seasons for having unsold stock??? "You bought too much from the wholesaler..no point being left holding stock.."

I thought it was going to be a deduction from the overall profit, was surprised when they added it on to the total at the end

Different type of task. This one is about how much you can grow the value of the business, so cash and stock. The idea is to find which products are selling, double down on buying those products in and optimise the number of stock turns and replenishments you do.

Other tasks are just about profit.

Depends if you're judging on the ability to grow a business from scratch, or if you're judging the ability to make as much profit as possible in a set time period.
If the winning team still had shedloads of stock, it means they've been making more profit per item on average on what they had sold, and they've just reinvested it in more stock - exactly the point of the task.
If they hadn't done that last minute rush to get more stock, they'd have probably obliterated the other team on cash in the till at close of play, as I can't imagine they sold much in the last hour, but the point was buy, flog, replenish. They nailed it, even though looked like they were all arse-about-face.

I should be, but I still find myself looking forward to it each night!

To answer your second point, are you suggesting people would tune in to watch a team of people stock taking? Hanging on the edge of their seats to see if the numbers stack up when the data-entry executives key in all the numbers? hehe
I've only ever taken part in one stock take, which was very memorable indeed. Everyone that took part got a free KFC. I got called in right at the end to help identify some unlabeled parts and thus was invited to the free KFC. When I got to the food table with the bloke I'd been helping everyone else was satiated and all that was left was a ten piece bargain bucket with six portions of fries each.

Neither of us like to waste food so we scoffed the lot, then had a lot of people laugh at us as we could barely move.

I did 7 pieces (cold) out of a bargain bucket while at Euro Car Parts stocktake one year (2005 I think). It was easy too, can't imagine how I did it!

Well, I know that when I go into a store if the "Lounge Zone" isn't next to the "Kitchen Zone" I immediately leave, thinking they simply don't have my shopping experience in mind...... WTF is that all about? I mean, sure, put the Lynx near the shampoo, but FFS...

And why didn't they have a bargain bucket outside to draw in the punters?

They should have just gone to the Apple store next door and bought an iPhone and put that down on the company business!

At best they would have spent £400 of their £500 on an iPhone, so they would have finished with £100 in cash and at best £400 (retail value) of the iPhone, totalling £500 and lost.

At worst they would have spent £400 of their £500 on an iPhone, so they would have finished with £100 of cash and £300 (approx wholesale price) of the iPhone totalling £400 and lost.

It does seem to be a very poor crop this year.

Part of the problem is that many of the contestants are probably just coming on as yet another reality show to get them on TV. I doubt that Sam had any sort of serious business plan. He was already an actor and wanted to become a "star".

In my opinion they need to boost the investment to something that could actually get a serious business off the ground £500K-£1m and make clear its not the weeks and weeks they pretend it is. If it was a few weeks with a serious reward you might get some more serious people taking part.

But they also do need to sort the Totty out, the standard has fallen this year.

It's a television programme for entertainment....the candidates aren't selected on acumen but on good hilarity value! biggrin

Absolutely. Although Elle bore a very strong resemblance to an ex-girlfriend of mine, so she was interesting to watch.

Fortunately, Freckles wasn't selected for the boardroom last time, so at least she's still in.

How long does the actual ''process" go on for?

Me and my business partner were talking about it recently there is nothing that would entice either of us to go and jump through hoops for £250k.

Be good to see it back in the old get a job for a year format again and also with a better prize. Sugar can't do many more series of this show, it's getting very tired.

Between two and three weeks from start to finish.
