Not sure we can be sure of that based on his LinkedIn profile can we? I didn't think they decided on a winner until just before the final was aired?

I'm sure as well that the trailer last week showed someone being wheeled out on a stretcher?? Did I imagine that?

I spent the whole show waiting for that moment and got very excited at the prospect of a comedy poisoning drama...I felt robbed afterwards! Boooo

Same here. Very disappointed in the BBC for pulling this sort of cheap trick really. If you watch The Apprentice then you watch it & don't need to be "tempted" into watching the next show. If this was a crappy "celeb" show on ITV2 then I sort of get the point but this was stupid.

It's certainly nowhere near as good or compelling viewing as it used to be. A few years back it had my (and my Mrs) full attention. Last night when it was on we were chatting, looking at the net etc. while it was on. Go back to the "give them a job" format please.

From what I've read, all the tasks are filmed about 6 months ago. The final two then spent the time between then and working within one of Sugar's companies. Then the day before the latest episode aires, Sugar decides on and tells the winner.

I think that was the old format (when the "prize" was a £100k job). Under the new format AIUI they still film 2 endings and the winner is told the day before the final episode is aired.

So the two finalists just sit on their thumbs for six months?

I thought the two finalists still work with Sugar's companies so Sugar gets 6 months to really assess them before ploughing several hundred thousand into their ideas.

I didn't think they did but I could be wrong.

Always wondered what the odds on having another PHr on it are and if they'd also do some cryptic request on a task.

Incredible that the postman don't get fired as well

He didn't demonstrate any leadership or drive and comes across as a bad clone of Ricky Gervais.

I think Joe is the only decent candidate left and the only one that seems to possess any common sense.

Mmmm, not sure. Nobody with common sense would wear a moustache, especially at his age. He looks like Dick Dastardly.

I do wonder just how constrained they are by production rules. I mean, they can't be that useless.

I think a lot of them are. Seriously, why else would you go on that show just to get £250k capital injection.

Excuse me if I'm stating the obvious here, but, to get a £250,000 capital injection!

Fair comment! redface What I mean is that they all (alight most of them) claim to be successful business people bringing in 7 figure profits with amazing business plans so one would expect them to be able to raise capital through more usual means. But even if I'm wrong, they do all appear to be complete idiots! hehe

And WTF is going on with his trouser braces; the 80's were 30 odd years ago!

Is it just me or has the boardroom bit got longer? To begin with I thought the boardroom but used to take up about 15-20 minutes, now it seems to last for half the show?

I get that impression too. But that's good, because these days I'm finding the task part extremely boring!

It seems like a lot of the classic moments that used to make the show interesting no longer happen.

Series 1 - Rachel deciding to perform a rumba when doing her pitch to the ad agency
Series 2 - Nargis doing possibly the worst pitch of all time. If she had turned up with an M16 and shot the guy in the head it wouldn't have been any worse
Series 3 - Simon screwing the trampoline leg on to his chap in the tv shopping task.
Series 4 - Jenny attempting to manipulate in the boardroom and being fired by Sugar on the spot

There was also a better mix of candidates in terms of ages and backgrounds. Now they're all perma tanned 22 year olds.

I still watch it in hope though.
