"Hmmm... I want to make a documentary about cars and James Bond... Who shall I hire to star?"

What about a stocky grumpy breadmaker?

"Done. Perfect."

Hollywood is a bit of a petrolhead, he does own an Aston, and he did that recent good programme about John Surtees, so I'll cut him some slack.

It'll be just an hour long advert for AM. IIRC there was a similar one recently on RR, but no sleb to front.

I like Hollywood on the baking programme, but the series he did on cooking was very poor. His narration was stilted and all the interviews felt very scripted.

I don't think I'll bother with this.

Regarding P1stonhead, Bedford Rsacal and OOOO's comments - you have taken time out of your day to slag off a programme you haven't seen by a person you've never met.

Why?

I was at Silverstone to watch the BARC event and was surprised to see him there in the pits in racing overalls. He was racing an Aston Martin so that explains that.

He is an irriatation in every other programme he has done so I have no reason to think this will be different. Not going to watch anything just becuase it has a car in it.

Strange to assume we've not met him isn't it? Mary Berry doesn't keep him locked away, all it takes is booking the wrong Cypriot hotel and you might end up meeting him.

I've no interest in his TV work in a subject he's supposedly well placed to take on. There's a whole line of people who vaguely qualify as celebrities who decided to churn out terrible programs around cars. Maybe this'll be different and Chris Evans will snap him up for Top Gear as the new Messiah to save the BBC but just the idea of this fills me with cynicism.

And the time out of my day really wasn't much, I was only spending that time on PH anyway.

I like Paul, he is a top petrolhead, he has a Ducati 1199 and as I understand it, took the first customer delivery Kawasaki H2 in the UK. I'd rather see Paul Hollywood do a documentary on Aston over say, Idris Elba.

I don't think I've seen anything with Paul Hollywood in before so, as AM are (hopefully) to be the stars, will give it a go.

He might be a petrolhead but it's not coming across like that so far. He isn't lifting it off the page.

Edit: When he isn't doing the scripted voiceover stuff he isn't bad.
