Vine should be prevented from commenting on any motoring matter, his ignorance is total.

After Thursdays toe curling show and the previous poor handling of the VW scandal,l I swore not to listen to this leftie, PC, ill informed programme, the only thing he is any good at is crying on air which happens with embarrassing frequency.

How long before he in floods when the annoying Welsh allotment guy (who at least knows his stuff) kills a mouse with a trap.

I was forced to listen to the used car segment yesterday which had me shaking my head in disbelief. I happen to know about used cars but I wonder if I am correct in thinking that the BBC also cannot be trusted on subjects I know little about?

I've long suspected the same. Whenever a subject comes up that I have a bit of knowledge about I'm left shaking my head in disbelief at the ill considered tripe that is being broadcast. I would imagine it's the same across the whole media and the only things you can really trust are those programmes presented by specialists.

Edited for brevity and greater accuracy. A total, utter, bell.

Leftie? To me, it is more like Radio Daily Mail!

Try Dan Snow and history subjects !....BBC Tv is just as bad if not worse when they have these in-house presenters.

If he is not claiming "We have discovered this or that" (Dan, reading other peoples books is NOT a discovery mate !) then he is dumbing the detail down so far a lot of it ends up wrong !

Contrast with Michael Wood, who doesn't treat the viewer as an idiot.

I thought someone might have started a new thread on this but did anyone hear the Jeremy Vine piece on the unfortunate pensioner who was crushed to death when his wife exited her car without setting the handbrake or placing the autobox in Park?

If not, I urge you to listen on i-player and prepare to be astounded by a 50 yr old international journalist who appears to have never driven an automatic car and has no idea how they function.

R2 is on by default in my workplace as we have no DAB reception here in the wilds and local radio is dire but from now on I will switch off after Ken Bruce as I can no longer tolerate Vines' inane, inept, badly informed presentation.

I don't expect him to know everything about every subject, he should let the expert guests speak and stop the peurile interruptions, better to keep quiet and let people suspect you may be stupid than to open your mouth and prove it.

Todays show was the last straw, what worries me is that the Vine show is the only current affairs show that the majority listen to and is now both dumbed down and inaccurate.
"when did you last have the head gasket patched?"

Vines contribution to the list of questions you should ask when buying a used car.

On yesterday. He does come across as being a complete fking moron.

I also posted this very same Steve Wright question some years ago, and he's still doing the same old ste.

Another one is Moira Stuart. She's like the retarded bloke off Anchorman. Given any opportunity to comment off script she just collapses into complete jibberish.
My wife always comments on Moira's fk up's. She's bloody odd with all her odd noises she makes. I think Chris has gone off her as she's barely included in the morning 'banter'.

Just signing in to agree that Steve Wright's show is abysmal. Worst bit is that stupid know-it-all cow Janie Lee Grace. World authority on everything, the Jane Asher of her day.

'Old Woman' I have never understood what that's about? Is it really an old woman and if so why does she put up with being patronised by a dhead?

Liza (apparently) agree, it is all so inconsequential and dull.

Steve Wright started R2 in the afternoons in 1999. The fact that he took over from Ed Stewart (ED STEWART IN 1999) tells you everything about how conservative the R2 Controllers are.

Steve, its 16 years now, time to give it a rest.

Lizzzzzzzzzzza, give me strength, the only time she sounds animated is when she pronounces her name, I bet she gets the proper ahole if someone calls her Lisa.

Ed like many a radio DJ of his era...

Stewart met his wife when she was 13 and he was 34, they married four years later. They divorced in 2006.
