We always have Elaine Page on whilst we eat a family roast lunch, despite all of us hating it. The Break a Leg section is just cringeworthy, and that laugh!!!

Any other Planet Rock fans?
Yes and was absolutely gutted when they got taken off FM recently. I'm going to have to invest in the portable DAB radio as mentioned earlier in this thread so I can listen to it in the car. I've also noticed that Team Rock are off DAB so are only available online?
I've got DAB in my car and at home so never listened online, although now you mention it, I haven't been able to tune Team Rock in my new car!
Team rock came off DAB in June, they are still going as an internet only station and have an APP which they are promoting heavily smile

I like the Break a Leg section - not because I am impressed by the messages left on the answer phone but, being a member of a musical society, it is a useful indicator of what shows are being performed around the country by other groups.

My society has used this service too but, on each occasion, we have just left a straightforward message with no embarrassing attempts to adopt foreign accents or sing any of the songs. No matter how good a singer you may be, singing unaccompanied over a telephone line is not a good idea.

We say that every week! I think, as we don't have many interests in common and a small family so not much family gossip we keep it on to have something in common to discuss and moan about. Plus I do enjoy the music, it's just her voice/laugh/personality which grates.

Steve Wright started R2 in the afternoons in 1999.

Steve, its 16 years now, time to give it a rest.
And for nearly 20 years before that.

He was producing the same guff on R1 in the early 80s.

Ed like many a radio DJ of his era...

Stewart met his wife when she was 13 and he was 34, they married four years later. They divorced in 2006.
Ah, the Wyman defence.

Don't get me started on Stewpot.

Back in the late 70s my Mum wrote in to the show to get a request played for my 7th birthday, Toast by The Streetband. Stewpot read out my name, wished me a happy birthday and said I wanted to hear "Thank heavens for little girls" by Maurice Chavalier.

Oh, the shame.

I think his song choice was maybe some kind of cry for help.

I can't watch "Gigi" any more without shuddering. Times certainly have changed.

I don't.

They are all very different. Some are rubbish - many have dated - some are thought provoking - some are fun.

Just like any form of performance theatre really.
