Thing is, while I get the comic boys are getting all west over this Neagen guy turning up - it means nothing to me.
When the highlight of the show is the trailer at the end for an episode in 3 months where we meet a guy I've never heard of, it really starts losing it.
Well said....When the highlight of the show is the trailer at the end for an episode in 3 months where we meet a guy I've never heard of, it really starts losing it.
This series started well, but apart from the first episode it has been painfully dull and drawn out, most of what happened could have been covered in one or two episodes.
Adding a new baddie/antagonist doesn't really progress the story, it is just more of the same. No matter how bad this Neagen is Coral or Rick will kill him, then in 2 series time another new baddie/antagonist will appear....
There are so many more things they could explore, but I guess staying with the same format is cheap.

The Carol/Morgan stand off was pretty obvious as to what was going to happen TBH.
Shame the Wolves guy didn't back out of the house and get his face ripped off. God knows why the woman thought it would be a good idea to treat his wound, dumbass.
Once again, too much nicey nicey gets people killed.
Where were all the walkers when the wolves guy left the house? Did they conveniently disappear?Shame the Wolves guy didn't back out of the house and get his face ripped off. God knows why the woman thought it would be a good idea to treat his wound, dumbass.

What I really didn't understand is that the wolf holds a gun to the fat girl's head. The two ladies bursting in on them decide to give up their guns to the wolf? If you shot someone, they're not going to have the chance to slit someone's throat. How does a man with a knife hold up two people with a gun.
Unless they were worried about the noise a gunshot would make, but still, surely that's not so bad compared to letting a wolf loose.
And I can see all you comic boys being well behaved so far, so please continue to keep it this way! I don't know who Negan is, and I'd really appreciate it if we could refrain from any spoilers.

Since there are quite a few people on here growing weary, annoyed and indifferent to how the show is progressing, what would you like to see happen? It's always followed a similar path - group trek in wilderness, find camp, find new people, find baddies, lose main character, big finale, group move on (or thereabouts). How can it change up and be different?

To do it more quickly, not spend an entire first half of a season dragging it all out.Either follow the comic storylines and get onto the bigger events sooner, or go off on a bit of a creative tangent and show us what other countries and powers that be are doing in this new world.
Just don't spend another episode fiddling with helium balloons.

Something more interesting that two people in dialogue, cutting to two more people in dialogue without anything progressing. A lot of the time even the characters aren't progressing during their talking.
Sounds just like the comic books, chatting, navel gazing and the occasional sudden angry outburst for no reason whatsoever.otolith said:
It's hard to guess what that means without spoiling it by reading the comics, but is it basically too much time spent on dialogue and character development and not enough action? Should it be a bit more Michael Bay?
There's a much bigger world out there, and they're not all baddies and zombies. A key part of the comics is the interaction and links forming between these with our main guys driving it forward.Let's see more of them and how they're coping with it all.

The problem is not the premise or even the basic storyline it is the woeful execution. It may not feel like it but this half-season actually contained a decent amount of action it was just the pacing was well off and most of it took place in the first three episodes.
Character development is good and great but it should be for people we actually care about and the townspeople and their banal dialogue were a big drag on the half season.

Agreed. Daryl, Sascha and Abraham have just stumbled across a new group of people they haven't met before and they're no more than 30 miles from Alexandria! Let's see more of them and how they're coping with it all.
