SAS Who Dares Wins. Ch4
Discussion
I think the stress positions would do for me (in the unlikely event I survived that long). I would have thought that knowing it was 'just for TV, it can't go on forever' would get me through it but I'm not so sure.
Ant saying 'tap us on the shoulder and have a beer' made me smile. Aye, right; I'm not approaching these guys without making good eye contact first!

DO we really think though that this is a reflection of the real SF training? I enjoyed watching but couldn't help thinking it was the X-factor version of the real thing...
They frequently mentioned that it was a cut down experience rather than actual course. The basics were there to be seen and give an insight. It was still a hard week for the contestants.I really enjoyed it and was intrigued by the staff more than the candidates. The steely determination and self control really resonated. Excellent viewing.
I really enjoyed this series. The BBC2 series recently was ok, and the last few on that were clearly hardcore, but effectively they could have just made them do pressups the whole week. What made the SAS one so good was that the physical was in some ways secondary to the psychological, even in the "seemingly-physical" tests.
Im glad that everyone on the last episode - even the 3 that quit or were pulled - got a friendly chat and a "well done" from Ant, as in previous episodes any that handed in their number was just pointed to the door.

Fair play to everyone who got past the first week! I doubt I would have.
Statham seemed well out of his depth last night. The ''good mummy'' had him wrapped around her pinky in minutes. The guy repeating the questions back to them was very good. It was funny when he let a 'yes' slip and realised it.
The psychological strains of all that noise, being masked and not know when you might be grabbed, would be bloody hard to take.
A really enjoyable series and taster of what the real SF go through.

Yep, that made it very interesting to watch. Even the SAS day(s) on Ultimate Hell week was more psycological than the previous days. Both very entertaining in their own right.Gassing Station | TV, Film, Video Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
