Slightly OT but i was given this by someone i've been working for doing a refurbishment on his house.

I didn't question him or call his bluff, cos ya never know.
You're not painting his boat shed are you?!
Do much work in Hearford? Hierford? Heerford?

I rather like the low key ending - no fireworks, no palava, just a solid handshake from the 'blokes' and shown the door. Nicely done.
I think he let himself down a bit by blubbing like big girls blouse.

I'd also like to know what he's done with his life since the filming because whilst I fully respect the guy and what that week must have been like for him physically and mentally I can't see the immediate transferable skill set which will turn his life around once dropped back onto a rough estate in Kilburn or where ever he was from, although it's probably done his personal training business no harm, presuming people want a PT who cries like a baby.

+1, although I did wonder if as soon as the cameras stops rolling, they all come running back into the camp and have a good ol knees up?

Just watched it, real shame the one who fibbed buckled!

Being an adapter, that's the motto of the Spanish inquisition.

Didn't expect that.

Enjoyed it, although I caught up in a few on catch up. I see they have series 3 commissioned now, top stuff, good to see a high proportion of Royals in the staff too, hoofing

If I was going through all that at least I would want a winged dagger badge at the end of it all.

Doing it just to win a game show, I wouldn't have the motivation.

No. 11 - as tough as they come!!! Sadly, i think he may be too old to make the grade, probably on physical grounds.
But as the instructors said, its a psychological battle - if he just doesn't throw in the towel no matter how much he's struggling physically, he may come through.

He's been singled out, but I don't think he's a favourite - he's a drug dealing, robbing and I hope they royally fk him over.
Whilst this programme isn't quite as contrived as many reality TV shows, it's pretty standard that winners don't feature much in early episodes. If they did, losers wouldn't feature at all.

Episode 1 was clearly getting the first set of sob stories out of the way wink
Really pisses me off how he was lauded for turning round his criminal past, and seemed to get more praise than the rest of the decent folk who never saw fit to rob others.

(he was fecking hardy though, well, aside from jumping into water from small heights and crying his eyes out at winning an 8 day reality TV competition hehe )

Winning a game show is most average people's target, spending 12-18 months going through hell isnt on most people's wish list

This. Soured the programme for me tbh, I would have preferred no one to win rather than him. Although I was glad the cheating cyclist got booted out. Cheating .

Yep agree with the above.

Obviously nothing like the real thing but good entertainment none the less.

They were here at 40 a few weeks back (Well 2 were) They asked C4 to do a show with that Guy Martin chap but C4 wouldn't sanction it or something.

I don't really see a problem with an ex-criminal winning. The SAS/SBS is full of people with criminal histories.

You're missing the more obvious point that they actually kill people.

I notice the Scottish SAS man Maclachan (?) was not in this series. Funny that...

I wonder if his story broke before filming, or whether he was actually in but got edited out before it went to air.

How have I missed the point?

He won the show because he passed the relevant tests and they thought he would fit into the SF world. Irrespective of his past.

He wouldn't fit into the SF world, he passed the bench mark to be in their gang as such.

I wonder what the pre-show selection was like? Read somewhere that the winner took three attempts to pass one of the runs - 1.5 miles in under 10 minutes or something.
