Aliens - When the motion sensor is going off and they can't determine where the aliens are until Hicks pops his head up into the ventilation shafts.

Gladiator - The ending as Maximus finds his way through the fields to his family.

Heat - The meeting between McCauley and Hanna in the café.

Layer Cake - The drive up to Stoke Park in the RS6 with she sells sanctuary playing.

The Dark Knight - Jokers introduction and the bank robbery opening scene.

Apocalypse Now - The attack on the beach with Ride of the Valkyries (awesome in surround sound).

Behind Enemy Lines - The FA18 Hornet take off and being shot down when over Srebrenica.

Gran Torino - The tension at the end of the film is brilliant when Walt goes to intervene and end the violence.

Law Abiding Citizen - when they finally catch up with Shelton in his cell.

Tin Cup - The early morning fly over at the start of the US Open.

Star Wars Episode 1 - Blast doors in the hangar open and Darth Maul unveils himself.

Taken - I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.

The bit for me in 'Apocalypse Now' is when Willard shoots the girl in the boat.

"I told you not to stop. Now let's go."

possibly a bit cliched now but the beach landing scene from saving private ryan has everything to get the hairs on the back of the neck raised.

the hidden shark opening swim scene in Jaws.

the ending of Last of the Mohicans, the pace, the music, the tragedy....

several parts of Interstellar but namely the first sight of the blackhole...

the brachisaur scene start of jurassic park in the cinema that was jaw droppingly good...

the ending of Close Encounters, where the alien and francoise trufaut exchange hand signals...

Watched it about three times now and it is the same feeling each time. I love and hate that film at the same time!
Where we're going, you won't need eyes to see!
Noo don't!! Just that line has triggered the hairs on my neck!! hehe
I still haven't seen the whole film, just puts me on edge and doesn't help that it's on late at night!

Yep, he totally ruined what was an awesome scene until that point. It should have been like the trailer, which was

"Lord Vader"
"Yes, master?"
"Rise"

Awesome. One brilliant scene from that film that is often overlooked is when Anakin and Padme are starting across the city, almost telepathically communicating just before everything goes to hell. Whilst we're on the subject, it's not even out yet but the shot of the X-Wings flying low over the lake in the Force Awakens trailer made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. A few others:

Alien - Riply hearing Parker getting killed over the radio, properly creepy

The Terminator - the whole "it can't be bargained with...." speech

The Good, The Bad and the Ugly - when they reach the graveyard

Dawn of the Dead - when Roger turns into a zombie, slowly sits up and stares at the camera

American Werewolf in London - the transformation scene, especially when his bones snap into their new position. Still looks incredible 30 years later

This scene in Manhunter (massively under rated Michael Mann movie, BTW):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-VnDcs3pnU

The song fits the scene (cranking the volume up helps, IMO): the chorus fits in Tom Noonan's harrowing and despairing facial expression and great visual design that ignites the rage inside Noonan's character.

More so because what Noonan 'sees' (an intimate moment) isn't what's really happening.

I saw 'Manhunter' on a double bill with 'Thief'. Great stuff. I remember the almost audible gasp from the audience when you saw the victims' bedroom at the start of the film. That and the tiger scene.

Quite agree, that is the reason I love Aliens.
