Marvels Jessica Jones

I watched the new supergirl, then watched this...
What a contrast
The story was more real, better written and for me grabbed me far more.
The filming seemed really dark, as in onscreen seemed visually dark.
But the story was totally engaging, I couldnt wait to watch the next one and it felt really grounded in reality. As much as super hero program could be.

I had to stop myself at ep7 (I think it was) at 1am as it was 1am despite the ending where The old lady was blown up - I had to force myself to get up and go to bed even though I just wanted to find out what happened next.
There's still so much to come out about all the characters and I'm resisting the urge to put on another episode right now - work does have a priority in the day... Just about

Right - I got to the end and I think it was a bad move watching them all in such a compressed time-frame. By the end it was starting to feel a bit "samey" so I suspect it would have felt better with some space between the episodes. You can't main momentum and enough variety and exposition in a story presented in 13 hours.
So overall, brilliant but deserves to be savored a bit... makes a case for broadcast/scheduled TV over the release-it-all-at-once internet channels MO.

Watched the whole series. Don't think it as good as the reviews on here and elsewhere have given it.
The storyline is stretched too far could have been 5 episodes shorter. Loads of things that made no sense in reality, and felt like the writers were a bit lazy in the script. No comedy at all in the whole series which is needed as it was a bit gruesome, but I guess that is the current trend in shows. some of the fight scenes felt very low budget, a bit batman circa 1960's.
The lead and David Tennent were very good.
I would give it 7/10.

I think DareDevil set the bar very very high for Marvel and NetFlix. Especially the first half of the series. They did the right thing making Jessica Jones very different in style and tone.
I thought it was very good. As is so often the case, it's the villain that really makes it work. It's hard to think of a nastier character than Killgrave in any TV show.

Right can some marvel geeks fill me in on the universe please? There's been two references so far to a) Aliens and b) buildings falling down and the hulk.
I haven't a barry clue where this fits in with the marvel canon if that makes sense. This or DD.
Cheers!
In the Avengers film aliens attacked, and the ensuing battle caused massive devastation. The shows being made with NetFlix are set in the aftermath. The Hell's Kitchen area of New York, where people know aliens and superheroes exist, but normal people just carry on with their daily struggle.
