Ep-9. Very dark.

I think I prefer this to DD but they both blow away the MCU films so far.

I watched the new supergirl, then watched this...

What a contrast

The story was more real, better written and for me grabbed me far more.

The filming seemed really dark, as in onscreen seemed visually dark.

But the story was totally engaging, I couldnt wait to watch the next one and it felt really grounded in reality. As much as super hero program could be.

It really is running close to DareDevil as best Marvel outing yet.

Just done with episode 5 - Very, very dark. David Tennant is brilliant.

I love how all the other characters are gelling together too

ETA - Episode 6. Pam is racktastic smile

Up to EP10.

I still don't see why every keeps harping on about how "Dark" it is!

Very enjoyable all the same though smile

I had to stop myself at ep7 (I think it was) at 1am as it was 1am despite the ending where The old lady was blown up - I had to force myself to get up and go to bed even though I just wanted to find out what happened next.

There's still so much to come out about all the characters and I'm resisting the urge to put on another episode right now - work does have a priority in the day... Just about smile

Right - I got to the end and I think it was a bad move watching them all in such a compressed time-frame. By the end it was starting to feel a bit "samey" so I suspect it would have felt better with some space between the episodes. You can't main momentum and enough variety and exposition in a story presented in 13 hours.

So overall, brilliant but deserves to be savored a bit... makes a case for broadcast/scheduled TV over the release-it-all-at-once internet channels MO.

I watched the first 4 episodes last night and think it's really good so far. David Tennant (Kilgrave) is definitely a proper bad guy!

Watched the whole series. Don't think it as good as the reviews on here and elsewhere have given it.

The storyline is stretched too far could have been 5 episodes shorter. Loads of things that made no sense in reality, and felt like the writers were a bit lazy in the script. No comedy at all in the whole series which is needed as it was a bit gruesome, but I guess that is the current trend in shows. some of the fight scenes felt very low budget, a bit batman circa 1960's.

The lead and David Tennent were very good.

I would give it 7/10.

I don't think I was overly thrilled with the last episode, it felt pretty rushed - it tied up a couple of loose ends, opened a few others, but the other 12 episodes were very good.

Working my way through and I think it's excellent. Hope season 2 isn't too far away.

I think DareDevil set the bar very very high for Marvel and NetFlix. Especially the first half of the series. They did the right thing making Jessica Jones very different in style and tone.
I thought it was very good. As is so often the case, it's the villain that really makes it work. It's hard to think of a nastier character than Killgrave in any TV show.

Right can some marvel geeks fill me in on the universe please? There's been two references so far to a) Aliens and b) buildings falling down and the hulk.

I haven't a barry clue where this fits in with the marvel canon if that makes sense. This or DD.

Cheers!
In the Avengers film aliens attacked, and the ensuing battle caused massive devastation. The shows being made with NetFlix are set in the aftermath. The Hell's Kitchen area of New York, where people know aliens and superheroes exist, but normal people just carry on with their daily struggle.

Really enjoyed it from start to finish.

David Tennant's performance as Killgrave was truly excellent, and I loved all the links with the comics & other areas of MCU.

Loved Trish Walker too, the little hellcat smile

Just finished it tonight from 9 to 13. Great stuff, up there with Daredevil. What's next up for Netflix/Marvel shows, Daredevil 'season' 2?
