Looking at the trailer at the end of episode two showing what is coming in the rest of the season, it seems they're going to tackle the major events from book one and two this series. This is the first TV show that I've seen where I've read the books first, so its a bit confusing watching them mash various elements up, but I can see why its happening for TV's sake.
Just binge watched upto season 2 episode 2
Wow just wow!
Loved the books, and the series seems to be following it pretty well (with some obvious changes etc)
One thing I thought was a great touch was the gun fight between the ships, how the sparks stayed in place in zero-G as soon as thrust was applied to the ship, and gravity was restored they dropped. I love little touches like that.
Only slight reservation is the casting of Holden, too Jon Snow for me at the minute.

Binged the bluray which looks stunning through the beamer.
Series 2 seems to have more tension, action and bigger budget.
Best tv series on at the moment IMO. Shame its not widely available legitimately... cough cough kodi
Its also the best hit of sci-fi in a long time since the actionification/dumbing down of movies.

Definitely the best Hard Sci-Fi on at the moment and even in the running for best TV series on at the moment!
Pretty much the only hard sci-fi.Definitely the best thing that Scifi channel have done in years by quite a distance, and one of the best shows that's currently running IMO.
Definitely, I enjoyed season 1 but wasn't wrapped up in it. To the extent that I didn't start watching season 2 until well after it had aired. However season 2 has been excellent and the latest episode was brilliant.
Though I can't believe that Miller is dead - even after the crash into Venus I assume that the protomolecule will preserve him and Julie in some way in which they are able to return?

Enjoying this.
Quite intriguing end to the episode last week:
What was that looking at the marine? Looked like some sort of new alien creature.
Was last night's episode 6 or 7? Can't wait to see the next one from this week.
I have only read book 1, so into unfamiliar territory with the story now.
One criticism - the marines seem like utter dicks to me. Constantly falling out with each other, thick and angry. Also, the lead marine annoys me immensely. I can only hope that they are focusing on her for a reason. She seems like a spoilt idiot to me.

The second series finale aired last night.
I have just seen it and it's ok. I think the first series set the level quite high and was better than this one.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it. However, the last four or five episodes seem to drag on a little and the finale was a bit meh. I think it peaked at the episode where the blue thing was staring at the marine (episode 6 or 7?).
The marine was a major disappointment. Even at the end the actress didn't seem to fit what was required of the character.
I'll watch the third series when it is aired as it's the best of the genre at the moment and on the whole, it's worth a watch. I think I'll start again with it soon and see if I can pick up anything I've missed.

Just finished a week of binge watching s1/s2... brilliant. A really well imagined universe, so much detail, can overlook the flitting about over huge distances in no time at all for such a rich and textured set of worlds. Cast I thought were a little iffy to start with but they've grown on me and the occasional bit of Firefly-style humour is so unexpected that it really does provoke out-loud laughter. Politics, mystery, hard sci fi, gorgeous visuals, decent soundtrack... this series is just all win.
