Slightly over dramatised as you would expect but an interesting watch all the same.

I'm impressed that he was able to inspect the turbines via the air intakes.

Was about to give up on this, as interesting as it was, not really anything gripping for TV. Was however saved with the Falklands story.

I'm not in any.shape or form an aviation fan, so seeing a plane that done very little go to 80 mph wasn't the most exciting. Yet for some reason, I enjoyed it.

Do you not understand the concept behind nuclear deterrence?

It's because of aircraft like the Vulcan that we are all still here.

If you like that then watch this, C4 made it a couple of years back.

I enjoyed it, great to see the unsung people who keep it flying. How sad they must feel.
Although I was shocked to hear the pilot who said it should be retired after the nose wheel failure. Surely that happens on modern aircraft too?

Love that engine howl. bow

I remember seeing an operational Vulcan at an airshow at RAF Finningly and it opening the bomb doors as it went by.

Finningly is now Robin Hood Airport, which is where Vulcan XH558 is/was based of course.

What did for me was the official instructions after dropping the bomb. Not "return to Airfield a, if that is out of action, divert to airfield b" etc.
Rather
"Continue east and try and find a nice Mongolian woman"
Indicates what they were expecting the UK to become..

Cracking television! The stories from the guys who served on it were incredible.

Channel 4 seem to be pretty good at this sort of programme these days

Your comment deserved it. I tried to be even more patronising but obviously failed miserably.
