Really don't know who to ask. I haven't owned a TV for something like ten years, just used my laptop to watch stuff, and now I want to buy one with my girlfriend.

We don't want to watch live TV, but she watches on BBC iplayer, Netflix, ITV player etc. If I buy a TV like the one in the link, will it connect directly to iPlayer and Netflix and other internet services like that? Or do I need to connect a laptop to the TV and log into Netflix via laptop?

There's an internet port in the wall behind where the TV will go if that helps.

You need a 'smart' TV with the apps built in. That doesn't appear to have this. You can get the content you mention with a Sky Now, Roku, Chromecast, Amazon TV Stick etc etc for less than 30 quid.

ETA not Netflix for the Amazon stick. Get a Chromecast or this:

Excluding the fact that it will be an out of date build, there will be No Netflix.....or BBC iPlayer.......or any of the others I suspect.

As had been said you need a chromecast or a Smart TV.

Iv got the same one and everything works. There's a new firmware update called Megatron that improves things even more.

The description doesn't say which TV is smart, I did read.

I've ordered this one now, because Which? magazine gave it good reviews, it's got a Smart TV logo on it so should be good?

That should work.
