Really dumb TV question, not owned TV for ten years....
Discussion
Really don't know who to ask. I haven't owned a TV for something like ten years, just used my laptop to watch stuff, and now I want to buy one with my girlfriend.
We don't want to watch live TV, but she watches on BBC iplayer, Netflix, ITV player etc. If I buy a TV like the one in the link, will it connect directly to iPlayer and Netflix and other internet services like that? Or do I need to connect a laptop to the TV and log into Netflix via laptop?
There's an internet port in the wall behind where the TV will go if that helps.

You need a 'smart' TV with the apps built in. That doesn't appear to have this. You can get the content you mention with a Sky Now, Roku, Chromecast, Amazon TV Stick etc etc for less than 30 quid.We don't want to watch live TV, but she watches on BBC iplayer, Netflix, ITV player etc. If I buy a TV like the one in the link, will it connect directly to iPlayer and Netflix and other internet services like that? Excluding the fact that it will be an out of date build, there will be No Netflix.....or BBC iPlayer.......or any of the others I suspect. As had been said you need a chromecast or a Smart TV.
The description doesn't say which TV is smart, I did read.
I've ordered this one now, because Which? magazine gave it good reviews, it's got a Smart TV logo on it so should be good?
