Chris Harris must modernise and up his game
Discussion
I suppose (20 years ago) it was acceptable for Evans to try to project a 'lad in the pub' image during his TFI days but I'm not sure it gives off the same impression when they're working on a car show. Also, I seem to recall Brendan Coogan getting the boot from Top Gear when he was done for drink driving yet Matt LeBlanc's been done for it on more than one occasion? Suppose it depends on how desperate you are to secure a global name whether the BBC can turn a blind eye or not..

The Lansdowne is not a "laddish pub".Truckosaurus said:
He always seems a decent enough chap when appearing as himself on the television, and seems as much as an enthusiast as any of the rest of us.
I sometimes wonder what people expect from a presenter when both a household name like Le Blanc and a well known motoring journalist like Harris are deemed unacceptable choices.
I always find he comes across as a bit distant and aloof, that might not be quite the correct word.I sometimes wonder what people expect from a presenter when both a household name like Le Blanc and a well known motoring journalist like Harris are deemed unacceptable choices.

Blasé is probably a better word. I like it though, completely different to his fictional roles. As for 'lad in a pub', calm down they're just having some lunch and a pint.

^This. As someone who gave up drinking last month and is continuing the experiment for an indeterminate period (am I actually a non-drinker now?!) I think I am fairly unbiased in my opinion. As for 'lad in a pub', calm down they're just having some lunch and a pint.

I make that fourteen presenters sat round the table - it's going to be quite a show! Chris Harris may well be the other presenter, or he may have another role within the production of the show, but since they've announced Matt LeBlanc and haven't yet announced the other presenter, I think it's fair to conclude that either the decision hasn't yet been reached or the position hasn't been accepted (the latter of which is pretty unlikely I'd have thought).
Fear not though, I'm sure we'll all find out the truth soon enough.

I am now working on a new project which I hope to be able to tell you about very soon. It will involve me making videos on the internet which you won't have to pay for.
I wouldn't be surprise to see him having a sort of secondary presenter role, perhaps hosting an online only spin-off TG, pretty much what he already does but under TG branding, and bigger budget.loudlashadjuster said:
As much as a done deal then. Good spot.
