I went out with Tiff Needell and he couldn't help himself but fall into 'presenter mode'. Thoroughly nice chap too.
I didn't realise that he was gay.
I'm sad Tiff didn't/couldn't move back to Top Gear. He would have been a much better presenter than Eddie Jordan.

Whatever you might think about Clarkson, May and Hammond, I don't think there is anybody better at driving and talking to the camera. I think the new team will struggle to get anywhere near their professionalism or entertainment value when it comes to reviewing cars.

and on thaaaaaaaaaaaaat bombshell.............

Forgot about Tiff, I rate him alongside the 3 stooges.

What as in running commentary during the "action"? And when you say nice, did he make you breakfast? wink

Anyone would be better than Jordan!

What was interesting this morning was Evans said they were off to shoot a 'Road trip' but neither knew where they had both needed some medical stuff & he's not on the radio show on Monday.

Whatever is going on little nuggets are being released to pique viewer interest.

Were you born in earshot of Bow bells? wink

And he's certainly something like the continuity...

No. frown He didn't call either. I was just left feeling used and a little bit dirty.

Nice, I assume that is your beast he is giving a good spanking? wink

I too find him more than tolerable as a presenter and he can drive a damn sight better than the golden trio who are all pretty poor for people who write\talk about cars for a living IMO.

I spent some time talking to him in his RV at a race some years ago. I left thinking what a complete tosser he is!!

I was at a dinner at which he was the speaker, and I have to say my impression was far more in line with Sparky137 than e21Mark.

I can only speak as I find and he was thoroughly decent both times we met. He was down to earth and happy enough to respond to a thread here, when someone questioned his opinion on Caterham handling. Last time I saw him he didn't mind my interrupting his dinner and went out of his way to help me source some items for a charity auction. He didn't even mind when we took the piss out of him for selling copies of his book from the rear of his car. That said, he's no different to any of us, in as much as some folk will like us and others won't.

TN has sublime car control , a good record of racing at International level(up to and including a GP start ), he's a born communicator and I enjoyed his autobiography hugely . Which makes him just fine by me , regardless of any slights others may say they have suffered. I certainly would rather be stuck in a lift with Tiff than Mansell or Hamilton that's for sure....

He pinched my girlfriend well someone who I wanted to be my girlfriend when I was 19 but I have since forgiven him and agree as a lift companion I can think of far worse.

Absolutely. It was effortless at 90+ through Paddock Hill on full opposite lock whilst chatting.

He's also the reason I don't watch Fifth Gear.
