just watched the latest one with Duckies previously unknown half brother
Nice and gentle story but much as I love the show I think its flattened.
Its not the lack of Ziva just that the thing itself seems a little tame now. In light of all the CSI's having gone into the sunset I wonder if NCIS will get a new series this time round

What channel and series? Keep on loosing track on what series I have seen, too many repeats!
Sorry I meant as the other guy says series 13 Just done episode 11Its interesting that the other guy says its the most popular programme in the world as I seem to recall CSI touting that line themselves.
I don't have an issue with Bishops character and its now a long time since Ziva did one anyway so its not a comparison thing. It just seems to be that the most interesting things in it now are back story inserts (the "Ducky history" being the main one)
I hope it continues but maybe it needs a shot in the arm. The series finale last time seened weak as Gibbs has been shot that many times. By far the best ending was series 11 which I thought handled a characters death with great dignity ( and got me listening to Warren Zevon too)
I've only gotten into this show in the past six months or so, but I'm hooked now. My missus would watch it and I'd hear it in the background whilst doing other things, sometimes sitting in to watch bits of it. At first I thought it was rubbish but it slowly grew on me. Now its like crack cocaine to me, I'm watching several episodes in a row on CBS Action on a Sunday night, plus watching the weekday episodes on 5 USA. I'm reaching the point where I'm seeing more and more repeats, but I'm still enjoying it.
Gibbs reminds me of some Sergeants and Warrant Officers I knew in the military, mainly because they were always appearing at the time you were doing something stupid or saying something about them. They always seemed to be "waiting in the wings" until that one moment when you really didn't want to see them.

NCIS went downhill once Ziva left. Theres only so many plot lines they can do and not sure if its a recent or old one (as theres old ones ive not seen that i think are recent until i see ziva) but theyve also suddenly become HRT working in Africa or some far flung destination of the world
Latest joint ncis original and ncis NO double episode was very good,
I'll be sad to see weatherly leave, but at least its not Mark Harmon or David McCallum leaving, I wonder who will replace tony. I also miss ziva but I never really felt her character fit, a foreign intelligence agent inside a US federal agency (kates characters background was a better fit).

Having watched NCIS from the outset, and JAG before that, I think this might be the point where I call it quits. I've got the whole of the last series on the Sky box still to watch, and probably a couple from the end of the series before that.
I can't even put my finger on why it dropped down the list of things-to-watch. I suspect it's probably because it just got a bit formulaic. Not much point me recording the new series when it is going to go into a queue behind 20-odd older episodes, not to mention all the other accumulated stuff.
Neither LA nor NO grabbed me at all.

Just seen DiNozzo's exit, and it was REALLY well done.
No spoilers but WOW
Agreed, it was very good! No spoilers but WOW
As for LA and NO, LA has gone down this season which is a shame as I was enjoying it Hetty being in it less is noticable and I think that is what is lacking. NO on the other hand has just got better and better as this season went on, enjoying it alot looking forward to the next season on all three but really want LA to pick up again.
Ref the ending, did you notice, Dinozzo asking over and over are we sure and never getting an answer? Then the "we are heading to Israel for answers and then to Paris, Ziva loves Paris! Although they have both left the show this leaves things open for a one off return at some point that could be interesting.
Also, none of the seasons ended on cliff hangers, refreshing but unusual to say the least!
Weatherley has left the door open to appearing in any of the NCIS family as DiNozzo. As for Ziva. Well Kort may not have been acting alone and She could be lying low. Sending Tali to Tony makes sense. In other News Weatherly's new series "Bull" is popping up between NCIS and NOLA on Mondays next year.
