Pah. frown
Just reading the blurb about the new series... apparently the protagonists are set in Angola and South Africa. With puppeteering from Berlin.

Most of the enjoyment of the first series was in car spotting hehe
Not sure repeated shots of old Landcruisers is going to cut it.

What's the betting of a further series set in wall coming down times ?

Got to be more than likely.

I expected this series to have jumped to that year but not yet.

I was a bit surprised what happened at the docks.

Pleasantly surprised so far ,many sequels are just garbage.

7/10 Marks so far.

did you see what I did there ?...biggrin

Cannot say that I am enjoying this as much as the original 83.

The new characters like the African Warlord, indestructible hairy South African mercenary, Arab Arms dealers, James Bond German Milf type he is having an affair with, are not as believable as those in the original series. The lead character as well has become more hardened & less likeable. And it sums it up, the new story line, when his ex-girlfriend has risen from being a single-parent 20 something to be a senior member of the Stasi in just a few years.

I have still not worked out the relevance of the sub-plot of the ex-General's ex- army son in West Berlin, but at least he is one of the more believable characters.

Hopefully things will improve when the action moves to Europe.

I probably didn't enjoy it as much as the original 83. The seeming lack of an integrated story that ran through the whole series was a bit difficult. That being said, I thought 86 really hotted up towards the end: the story reappeared, that sense of not knowing who was on which side....really liked it.

I've missed one episode of this and completely lost the plot TBH.

I'm also going to miss the last 2 so a bit pointless continuing with it.

Why not watch the episodes you missed on catchup?

Just watched the last episode of 86. We really enjoyed it, a nice mixture of drama and black humour. Can't get that bloody earworm theme song out of my head though smile

Need to watch 83 from catch-up now as it passed us by originally.
