Deutschland 83, 86 & 89
Discussion
I really enjoyed 83, but gave up on 86.
Is there anything I need to know before I start 89?
We recently watched the "Same Sky", which is another East/West Cold War drama.

Same for me - never finished '86, probably ought to; but I think the new one's stand-alone-ish.
Agree on Same Skies, annoyingly there's no sign of a Season 2.
For lovers of Berlin-based drama, Counterpart is fantastic (and in English).Agree on Same Skies, annoyingly there's no sign of a Season 2.
If you like a bit of techno, Beat isn't too bad either.

I'd watched 83 on free-to-air telly here and 86 and 89 got picked up by a local streaming company, which my wife got recently for a month or two. So 86 and 89 it is! I got through 83 in three nights and am about three episodes into 89. I'd had a long enough time between 83 and 86 to forget most of what went on and I found 86 an easy and interesting watch. 89 is a bit more of a demanding thing - every story thread seems to be rather more full-on!
