I think it is fairly obvious the OP meant "Death in Paradise"
I agree it has run its course. I used to look forward to it but now it is getting to be predictable but with more and more bizarre cases.

Not a very likable character though with spots and rashes and complaining !
Hope he gets better.
Its a laugh though, a murder every week !

It never dawned on me that it might be "Death in Paradise". It sounded like an anagram of some sort.

I never watch it, to be honest - although I have a strange affection for "Father Brown". I never knew the Cotswolds was such a dangerous place to live in the 1950s.

It does seem a dangerous place to live, murder rate must be well above average.

Nope! I Googled ‘Ralph little death’ to find out what it was. I wouldn’t have known he was in it otherwise.

Simple mistake though and all explained now. Hopefully mods can update when noticed.

Unfortunately it seems the English detective character has descended into parody now & the current line up of main characters is pretty uninspiring. Kris Marshall & Ardal O'Hanlon were very good, Joséphine Jobert acceptable & the incomparable Sara Martins was divine. The replacements for the Danny John Jules character are insipid & the Ruby Patterson character is just dreadful.

I've deleted the series link recording & will just have to make do with the re-runs of the old episodes. It's a shame because it's an important programme for the BBC & the producers have dropped the ball big time.

Death in Paradise - Ralf Little, presumably.

I thought it was OK, it's a decent enough show to watch in the cold wet wintery bits of the year.
Ralph Little now. Swing and a miss hehe

I wouldn't expect hat Ardal O'Hanlon was portraying an English detective.

Someone actually liked the Ardal O'Hanlon years? It went down the pan as soon as
Chris Marshall left. It takes all sorts I suppose.

Gawd only knows why me and wife still watch it, prob because we can quietly drift off for an hour mid evening before getting a second wind and putting something worth watching on. It was such a good programme when Ben Miller started it.

Hasn't been the same since Ben Miller was killed off!

Sara Martins going was the nail in the coffin for me, though.

I watched an early episode recently and it's really clear that this is really a sort of 'Last of the Middle Aged Wine' now, with all sorts of once were familiar faces in their 50s showing up to be suspects or murderers.

Back in the early days Miller and Martins were acting! The difference with the current casts is remarkable.

Ruby Patisson is a truly appaling character (or maybe she's just a ste actress - I suspect both) - The new female detective is almost undetectable and Fidel needs 'The Cat' back to play against....

I wasn't a big fan of either Chris Marshall or Ardal O'Hanlon in this, but both were tolerable and, to be honest, Ralph Little (whoever he is - I don't think I've watched anything else he was in) doesn't seem any worse at first sight.

This is tolerable TV, but it's a million miles from what it was in the early days.

FYI...Ralf Little best known for the Royle Family and Two pints of lager and a packet of crisps.

Mods need to redo title again.....Ralf with an F seems to be correct speeling.

Except he's not and doesn't play a character who is English with an Irish accent.

I always thought that Jack Mooney, (Ardal O’Hanlon), was an Irishman who came to U.K., joined the Police, rose to D.I. in the Met, and was seconded to Saint Marie.
I only watch DIP occasionally, but my wife is an avid viewer, I thought that Ralf Little did a reasonable job in his first showing, but I could do without his eczema and constant itching.

It's funny, I liked the premise of the show from the beginning but always found Ben Miller's character very irritating. I only really started to enjoy it when Kris Marshall came along, and I'm a big Ardal O'Hanlon fan anyway so have enjoyed him.

It's a bit early to say if Ralf Little is going to work or not, but I'll give him a chance. Mind you, I've been giving the Ruby Patterson character a chance ever since she appeared, and am still not liking her.

Sadly, as someone who has had eczema since I was three months old, I'm sad to say that you don't really get a choice when it comes to the itching! wink

I've never figured out how big the island is to get a comparison, but there was an interesting article about fictional vs real murder rates a while back https://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/tvandradio/949...

Apparently Midsomer Norton is about 3 times more dangerous than the Thames Valley Constabulary overall. However the one you really want to avoid is Cabot Cove (murder she wrote), with a murder rate of 149 per 100,000 population. Scarily this only just beats the real world murder capital of the world Tijuana with 138 murders per 100,000 population yikes

I am not warming to the new character. Not a criticism of Ralph Little who is a decent actor but the overdoing of the rashes and mosquito bites is annoying.
Last night's episode was one of the worst so far. How on earth he worked out what had happened then, with absolutely no evidence, the murderer shouts out "Fair cop Gov I done it" before being led off in handcuffs. Really?
