Does anyone know the reason why Thor has that blunt hammer rather than a pointed one? Surely a pointed one would do more damage?
During the Thor 'bio' in the garage he was holding a pointed hammer...Turquoise said:
This format is bks.
Then don't watch it? Three posts about how rubbish it is over the course of the hour, why didn't you just turn it off? This week was a bit boring, but then last week was very enjoyable and there were good moments here and there this week. I'm still happy it's back on and I will be watching it next week.
Does anyone know if the Chaos team are going to be back in it again? I remember Chaos 2's flipper being crazy powerful.

I think as others have said they tend to get stuck in things.Although Beta even with a blunt end can get it stuck in things too
IIRC beta does not run at its full power its capable of as they were trying to find a way to hold it to the floor in battlebot's first with magnets but it tore up a peice of the floor when it fired , then with a turbocharger based sucker to hold it down although not sure if they ever got that working.
Not the best episode but even they agreed that one of the battles was boring. Personally I'd have scored them both zero for failing to battle.
We need people to make new untested robots, that's the point of the competition, a bunch of geeks making stuff in the shed. It's not like they have the means to make a fleet of them to test against so they do the best they can with what they have and go for it. It's not the world cup or olympic games, it's a hobby.

I will watch what I like and comment accordingly.
I don't like seeing the best and only decent robot being knocked out by a robot it's already convincingly beaten.
You could also come across as a petulant 13yr old too.I don't like seeing the best and only decent robot being knocked out by a robot it's already convincingly beaten.
Did you enjoy the final then? A fitting end to competition? The best robot won in your opinion?
I didn't. How petulant of me.

Yes really.
If you're really that serious you can't really be an adult. I just watched it for what it was, it made me laugh, it wasn't as good as last weeks I don't think it's worth
Yes last week's was better, it didn't make this week's a total bag of arse. Thor was impressive, especially for a one man team, shame it didn't get through. Toxic, with their expertise in the tactic of running away, were useless. Shockwave were ok, but the gas pipe scoop was a bad idea, and I don't think there's much danger of them getting much further. Mr Speed Squared could be a good robot if they can sort the spinner out, it ripped Chimaera to bits so it has got potential.
I know it's school holidays for a few weeks but let's be grown ups and pack it in, eh?

Apologies for starting the argument, I should know better. Arguments tend to ruin threads, you think I'd know that by now given that I've been here a while!
I agree with poing, it's all about geeks/nerds making things in sheds and so there will always be untested robots. This week was a little boring but if that's the price to pay for keeping the ethos of Robot Wars alive then I'm happy to pay it. Nothing's perfect.
