Robot Wars is coming back
Discussion
Given the various hazards in the arena I don't think a durable pusher/weaponless robot would be much less exciting than many of the robots that fail the get through the first round. A lot of robots seem to have very poor control (I understand this is probably much harder than it looks, and poor view of the arena and lack of practice/testing may also be factors) so a pusher than can be precisely controlled would be an entertaining watch IMO.
Would be interesting to see how many blows/hits it could take against a powerful spinner/flipper robot as well.

How can they not call that "Game of Drones".MarkRSi said:

I was thinking along these lines the other day. What often makes a very entertaining fight isn't just having a destructive weapon-it's also having a durable and game opponent.Would be interesting to see how many blows/hits it could take against a powerful spinner/flipper robot as well.
What makes the Minotaur vs blacksmith fight so entertaining is that fact that blacksmith was able to withstand a huge amount of punishment, kept swinging and coming back and nearly made it to the end of the round. It would have been impressive to see Minotaur knock them out with one blow-but not nearly as entertaining.
Storm2 despite having no weapons was a great robot and very entertaining-having no weapons means you've got to go chasing and pushing constantly after the other robot which can make for a much more entertaining fight than waiting for two spinners to spin up then taking each other out with one hit.
Although I think the current arena design doesn't favour a pusher type robot with the slightly sloped sides.

Battlebots is awesome...but too much talking, not enough destruction IMO.
I record it on my Humax and make good use of the "skip forwards 30 secs" button You do get fewer fights, but they are much better, on the whole... the Robot Wars round robin style simply wouldn't work when so many machines are so very dead at the end of each round
