Im surprised Beth's accident has hardly got a mention as well.
""At 20:00 GMT on Sunday night Beth was taken down for surgery where they took a piece of bone from her hip and used it to fuse the two vertebrae that were fractured, along with pinning them together."
Perhaps the show decided to hold off as any reports would have been speculation.

As someone who skis, dirtbikes, trackdays bikes, dives etc I'm actually amazed that they will do this on tv - so much risk of all the usual ski related injuries. As to Beth Tweddle - that could have been a real blow as I could have lost my future wife. She doesn't know it yet, it's going to be a "surprise".
Any of the so called celebrities who try to claim compensation should be told to get lost.
They've voluntarily taking part in winter sports which are always risky, on top of that they are being paid to do it. It's not like they wandered onto the show by mistake and were wiped out.
The athletes amongst them spend their careers risking injury for personal gain, this is no different.
Good on Ch4 for doing the show, I'm finding it really entertaining.

Not suggesting any of them will, just suggesting they shouldn't get anything if they do that's all.

My thoughts last night; as someone who's no stranger to A&E and even a semi-emergency operation as a result of leisure activities, it looked very, very dicey to me.I've skied, jump gaps on mountain bikes and descended over 18,000ft in one day on lift-assisted downhill mountain biking trips, but this show really did look pretty hairy.
I hope Beth is able to recover. Healing vibes to her and the numerous others injured so far...

20:00 GMT would have been an hour before the show, so she would have been in surgery when it was on. Unsurprising they didn't mention it really. I expect they have a few more "spare" celebrities they can dredge up. What is the kill list on this so far.... How many injuries, I think I counted 6.
I have to say, its one of my favourites this show. I don't do reality celebrity TV, but this is just brilliant. Every sport you look at and think "wow I want to try that" and its great tele.
Its fairly quick, the results are instant, no voting....
I read some comments that the show should be banned, its shocking, when will it end. Pah, you get paid, you sign a form, you take the risks end off. Its like booking a track day, the circuit organise the emergency services, marshals and provide a adequate safe environment, if you fall off and end up in an air ambulance then that's your problem. Long may it continue.
Would channel 4 actually have to insure them, surely when you sign up for dangerous sports you know at some point your going to be on your arse or in hospital and that will be in the contract.

Joe's holding his shoulder quite uncomfortably after one run in the slalom.
But they all seem genuinely to love it.
Eta: my money is on Joe having subluxated this shoulder. Which means he will be be in discomfort, but able to carry on right up to the point at which he properly dislocates it.
