Did anyone else catch this on ITV1? Seems like a successor to Police! Camera! Action! - enjoyable, schadenfreude TV (does that make me a bad person...?)

I wasn't sure if it was networked - we had it here in Ulster. I watched it mainly because, like so many selfish bast*rds, I like to see stupid people get their come-uppance.

The programme spent an inordinate amount of coverage on the cyclist who went through a red light and collided with a bus. He later pointed out that his brake cable had snapped. I can't help but wonder about the other brake cable with which his bike would have been equipped. And the old "last resort" we used as kids - our shoe leather. Methinks the man did protest too much.

That had camera road warriors all over it:

Old chap who got knocked off his pushbike by the Passat coming out of the junction - sorry he got hurt but you could see things were happening at the junction way earlier, I'd have slowed rather than plow through at speed regardless whether on pushbike, motorbike or car.

The heroic Dad who's brilliant driving averted a motorway disaster - No, he's a MLM who started to slow when the 1 series started spinning, he didn't brake when you first saw smoke coming off the tyres and didn't move left to put distance between him & the spinning BMW - pumping the brakes!! Yeah right.

And 'ping the brake cable snapped' - so why were you still peddling right until you hit the bus? (OK it might have been a fixie but the stop line was some distance to the bus) - certainly agree with the above though, it did make me laugh at first.

Oh and the learner bike rider who overtook the lorry & crashed onto the green at the side of the road - target fixation.

Totally agree with this. Although what worried me the most was the cars driving towards people on the wrong side of the road on the blind bend on a country lane (why on earth would you do that?)

Another in agreement here, sensationalist bks with the guy who 'managed to miss' the spinning BMW on the motorway at night. You did nothing, you eejit!

I also spotted the cyclist still pedaling when he hit the bus. Had me shouting at the telly!

While we're being Mr Perfect, the guy who had the truck run over his bike.
You could see the truck was coming around the corner - why didn't he stop earlier?

I've seen this before. They obviously didn't see each other, and by the time the bike realised that the lorry driver could not see him, there was nothing he could do.
One of those things I guess.

I think there was a multi page thread on here about it some time ago.

Biker didn't do anything wrong but could have done a lot more right - but that wouldn't have made 'good' viewing/publicity/insurance compensation.

My thoughts exactly... Didn't he pull over to 'assist' stopping his car with family on board in Lane 3 aswell..?? Not the safest of places I'd have thought.

The programme contained one of my pet grievances - the clip where a car was rear-ended by a Smart car after stopping because an ambulance was coming down the road IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. The ambulance appeared to have an open and clear passage and yet this numpty thought he would help by stopping. OK the Smart car was in the wrong and not looking at the road ahead, but FFS why do people do this?

The bit with the woman trying to park was pretty funny.

It's popular viewing here in Ulster. I think it took her something like 6 minutes. It's not as if it was a tight space or anything - she just didn't know when to start turning the wheel the other way.

Holy st, did they really give her a licence!

As for all these camera owners, do we think they have ever slept with a woman? Thought not...

I only watched a bit, it was the part where for 15 minutes they went through how some girl mysteriously drove off the road into a puddle and apparently nearly drowned.
I soon switched over.

I cannot understand why this segment was even included, filler? What had this young woman's struggle to get a driving licence have anything to do with being 'Caught on Camera'?

Is this programme for those very few who have no access to You Tube?

The caravan banger racing section seemed utterly pointless too - I get more from the PH dash camera thread.

Apparently driving safely and under the speed limit.
