Why are people getting so angry about what format a new program should take?

!
Not annoyed by format, I used to love TG, genuinely can't stand Evans and am annoyed he's taking over.

I really don't understand why people even care about "The Top Gear" anymore.

As a car show it has being going down hill. It had a large, highly diverse and wide reaching audience but was at the point where a large part of each show was nothing more than footage of arguing/acting out highly scripted sketches. Great if you like that thing and it now will have a home on Amazon Prime.

If you gave a fraction of the BBC Top Gear budget to Chris Harris and Neil Carey to film some cars the results would be incredible, you only have to look at his latest video to see what they're capable of.

Then you throw in Sabine, (Eddie Jordan), Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc along with the remaining Film Crew. They can all handle a car and are knowledgeable about cars/driving in different ways. Racing drivers would make up the majority of the hosts.

I hope the show doesn't try to be Jeremy, James and Hammond MKII and instead concentrates on the strengths of the new hosts. Their driving.

They could finally kill off the stig too.

I don't feel that strongly about him, but is there anyone on here who likes Chris Evans?
I seem to be in a pretty small minority not hating him.
The show will only be interesting if they get some car people on - or at least one. Let's hope for Harris.
Still won't miss the old show.

Ditch the Stig - it's been done; ditch the star in the reasonably priced car - it's been done.
OK, now you have CE and MLB so you've got your stars. Now get someone with substance - Harris, etc.

Of course, it won't be aimed at the people on here, it'll be aimed at ratings - and that means GP. And what do they want to see - Chris and Matt doing wacky things.

Eddie Jordan, oh FFS. Will that mean looking at his plums each week when he squeezes into white jeans which barely fit a 13 year old? fking gobste, laughs at his own jokes and is very abrasive by all accounts. Should go well smile

Can never quite make my mind up about Chris Evans - he can be cringeworthy one moment but brilliant the next - we'll have to wait and see.

Great news about Chris Harris!

Matt Le Blanc could be interesting - at least he can drive a bit.

But PLEASE no EJ - guy talks sh*t most of the time and won't shut up!

Or maybe someone in a silly shirt is compulsory to keep minority groups adequately represented?!

Looks like Piers Morgan to take the final top gear presenting slot according to his twitter feed and BBC America.

He's good mates with Chris Evans and can drive a bit too apparently.

I think it's a good choice imho.

Looks like anyone with half a profile who raises their hand gets the gig if this is true.

Strange one... I thought the MLB interview when he was the SIARC was excrutiating. Clarkson struggled to get anything out of him. Came across as bored and dull

But I have only seen him in that and in Friends. Perhaps he takes on his Friends persona and plays the joker

I like El Stovey.

He should throw his/her hat in the presenting ring.

El Stovey is trolling about Piers. There's nothing linking him to the job and his twitter feed is just full of cleaveage
