Don't know how I missed this the first time around -- I am up to Series 5 now (on Netflix). It is very good, and as they seem to kill off or at least remove characters regularly you never know whether that scene really is the end of that character.

Very good BBC television.

I haven't got around to watching the movie -- I liked the series very much.

It's just like an average episode.. but longer.

Best ever episode. Discuss.
For me, it was the episode when they were stuck in the grid, following a major terrorist attack outside.
Stand off involving MI5 officers pointing guns at each other, (Not to give too much away)

Still my favourite series, a couple of dodgy episodes like the rock star one and one or two weaker series but back on form with Lucas and his story.

I have a lot of trouble remembering individual episodes. The ones that stick in my mind are largely the "changeover" ones, where someone new arrives or someone leaves one way or another. But I did really enjoy the re-run, and hope that maybe this re-re-run is a precursor to them continuing from the start of series four.

I got the film on DVD recently, it's not a bad film but I prefer the one-hour format from the original series.

Great TV but do I remember correctly that Harry got very upset in one episode - about the Yanks using the UK as a stopping off point on to 'extraordinary rendition' - due to them going beyond the law of the land etc, then later offing his US counterpart despite no order to do so?

It's a long time since I watched it, so perhaps a Netflix appt is due (when we've finished The Crown).

I struggled with the film, but the series was consistently the best thing on tv imho.

This is running again on Drama, though I can't tell which series it's on (ETA - start of series 3, according to IMDB) - last night saw the introduction of Adam Carter, and I can't remember if the last re-showing got that far. Later at night, though, starts after "New Tricks".

Last night I noticed how often Tim McInnerny seems to be cast as a Whitehall chap - NT from last week had him as one, and Spooks las night had him as a very similar head of the Joint Intelligence Committee.

I keep thinking of starting this again, one of my favourite series - I really liked the one with the nuclear attack and they were all locked in mi5. The film was pretty decent and I liked the way they weren't afraid to kill lead characters - though it was annoying when you were invested in them.

The fryer episode still sticks with me, ironically she is now married to that tv food bloke (I'm terrible with names and too lazy to google).

Second time watching Spooks from the start for me, using iPlayer. The OH is enjoying it too, but at an episode a night we're already into Series 10. It's consistently excellent, and having originally watched it years ago I've forgotten enough that it's fresh again. The characters do have a run of some really bad days at work.

A good show even if did change lead characters a bit too much each series.

It did have some great 'WHOA!' moments when the writers pulled some great surprises.

I'm still keeping up with it, though there have been one or two episodes recently that I just don't remember from the first time around.
