Inside the last decade I worked somewhere with a huge mix of different backgrounds. Turks, Namibians, Mauritians, Poles, Greek, Chinese, West Indies, Lebanese, Malaysian, Irish and of course White British (which I am) Age range of people were 28-48 I'd say.

EVERYONE* Would be calling everyone else abuse which involved the ethnicity. "You chinky this" "You Turkish wker" "You fking " etc etc

Now it's far from Politically Correct. And if HR had found out, we'd probably all have been sacked

But it kinda worked. Huge fun. Everyone had rhino thick skin. And no one took offence. There was no power to any of it. This was Banter and then some! I miss it at times.

(*Well bar 1 guy who was just a pompous, hypocritical . Happy to say "White this, white that" But like all hypocrites when it was directed at him he got a massive strop on. So he was just ignored by the majority of people after that. )


Racism is always going to be prevalent in society. If it was "accepted" to be racist for our Grandfathers and great grandfathers generation. It's not anymore. Progress is always occurring. There'll always be a victim and there'll always be an aggressor. And sadly, there'll always be people prepared to claim being a victim of Racism whenever they don't get their own way.

The black guy who spoke to the white guys in the pub said he was "just getting some sun " hoping they would be racist back no doubt.
The Jewish guy should have gone up to Asians especially women in burkahs and asked a question - a great test how the main players of the racist card are also the main users of it.
