Good stuff although the shopping list of armaments was a bit OTT.
Yes, and slightly comical. Did anyone else see the Avro Vulcan listed? I suppose that might be for plonking at the end of the driveway to the baddies lair hehe

It did seem rather odd, but I'll let it slide.

Does anyone know if that's lifted from the book or was 'shorthand' for some lengthy section in the book? If you're squeezing a book into 6 episodes, something has to give (just look at the train wreck that was the recent War and Peace!).

I couldn't work out if IronLast was supposed be a legit arms dealer/manufacturer or a Nick Cage type dealer.

Yes I saw that and was slightly confused. Maybe it was a slip from the original book (which was set in 83) whereas this adaptation has been brought forward to the present day.

I also smirked at the listing for 'napalm'.

There is a clip on YouTube of him doing an American doing a bad British accent.

And he's doing it in the Spooks re-run on Drama the night before, too. I'd quite forgotten he was in that.

I'm sure there was an F22 and Trident in there too, as said I let it slide....

Interesting (well...) that the codes in the left hand column don't line up with the descriptions.

Im quite pleased I have earned myself my first ever woosh parrot with the accent remark!

I commented to my wife at the time that the chally NSN was wrong as it should be 99! She wasn't impressed!

Watched the first episode last night and really enjoyed it. Hugh Laurie playing a villain is a great twist. Will stick with the series.

Wasn't the Asian guy, Olivia Coleman's sidekick, also from the job centre?

I hope the comment in the op about Hugh Laurie's British accent was missing a smiling face or have I earned myself a woosh parrot?
biggrin parrot to aisle 11, please!
When he went to audition for House, and from the very second he walked in, he spoke in an American accent. He had three auditions and did the same, then got the part. First day on set he turned up speaking normally and everyone started asking him why he was putting on a silly British accent. Priceless.

(Laurie recounted that tale on the Graham Norton Show a few years back)

Yep, the Fraud Inspector, like I said smile

He was also River's replacement partner.
