I'm currently watching the "Trading Up" series on Quest.
The continual conversion of every price into dollars is doing my head in.
Me too. Although who knew that Mike Brewer was a human calculator? The way he can translate from Rupees to Dollars and then back to Pounds is astonishing! The continual conversion of every price into dollars is doing my head in.
I reckon he should be next up to replace Rachel Riley on Countdown.
It's annoying me how everything is becoming American. They must waste half of a hour long program with "coming up" and "before the break" crap. I feel like I've seen the whole programme in the first 10 minutes. The marketing people must think we need some jeopardy in every program. The one that annoyed me the most was the Messerschmitt KR200 episode where within the first few minutes we knew Ed was going to crack the perspex canopy. I will keep watching because it is a nice change from all the other drivel on tv now. I think it would benefit from being bumped higher up the channel numbers and stop chasing viewing numbers with dumbed down work, and get back to where Ed taught us how to weld and use satin black.

It's just dawned on me that I put the latest episode on about 90 minutes ago... it finished and I haven't a clue what they spent, what they did or what they sold the car for!
I did something similar.Put the Civic episode on, fell asleep, rewound when I woke up, but still have no idea what they spent or what happened to it.
It is just a mess of a show at the moment, Edd hardly appears, the pick up last night involved hardly any work except welding in a patch in the bed, replacing a couple of seals and a new interior (which we didn't actually see being done so who knows who did that. The wifi addition was pointless as most phones can be a wifi hotspot nowadays. Then he sells the car and barters the buyer down on price?!
Fast n Loud is far better at doing this sort of thing now.

The Civic episode was an all time low, the Chevy truck was only slightly better but not by much. Can't understand the reasoning behind getting Mike to do more work, unless Edd has had enough and is winding it down. We shall see...... I think he's seen the writing on the wall and for the sake of his reputation and career is looking for pastures new.
What the actual fk is going on with W.D?? I just finished watching the Chevy truck episode. Edd was on screen for all of what? 5 minutes? As much as I like Mr. Brewer his role is not the mechanic. Is Edd leaving? Or is this all down to WD being picked up by Velocity? Bit st if you ask me.. (although nice yo see man hours get a mention at long last)
