That really did not feel like a real sale. The guys meant to be buying it looked like they had no interest in it at all and then offered what seemed a fairly silly amount for whats a rebadged cheapo 70's Isuzu. It actually felt like they could not sell it and contrived that sale. I can't imagine why anyone would buy that truck in America for that money when you could get a proper full sized American pick up truck for the same sort of money.
The Honda sale to the museum the previous week also felt fake to me. Both cars it seemed like they went looking for a buyer instead of someone actually came to them. Possibly down to them choosing such dull cars I guess though maybe they have some cult following in the US I am not aware of.
It does seem like they are trying to go for unexpected cars this series which I do kind of understand given how many cars they have done now but I do think they could still come up with something unusual that was not quite so dull.

Everyone I have ever spoken to about this program agrees that Ed is the best thing about it. Why are they featuring less and less of him? Its absolutely bonkers. Does anybody believe that Mike was the driving force behind removing the truck bed or that he replaced the suspension himself? Absolute nonsense. What happened to the Mike buys a car, Ed fixes the car then Mike sells it?
Im giving it one more week (only because it is a mustang next week) and if it doesnt improve I'm not going back.

It was ED;s work that was worth viewing I never really took to Brewer but it did work between them.Im giving it one more week (only because it is a mustang next week) and if it doesnt improve I'm not going back.
It's not just that they are featuring less and less of Edd; but when he is on screen, he's always tutting and rolling his eyes. And then mysteriously buggering off to do something else.
If he really was acting that way, they'd make sure it didn't appear in the final edit, which means his absence and attitude is part of the 'script'. For some reason.

I echo the sentiments above.
It was Gash
Not sure i can be bothered to sit through another episode. By the time I'd fast forwarded through the endless 'coming up' and post advert recaps, there's barely any meat left on the bone.
Next week it's a 1988 Mustang. A real motoring icon It was Gash

Im another fan thats not enjoying this current series. I watched one of the very early episodes on discovery turbo last night, the Red Lancia Delta Integrale. It really does show how theyve changed the format and not for the better,
It was lovely and simple. It must be at least 10 years old now, Brewer looked about 12 ( stone lighter than he is now) Brewer sources car, off fleabay in this instance. Car hand over, no faked Edd moaning, Edd goes to work, brake rebuild, Brewer sources a few parts from specialists, Edd does alternator, and a few other bits, bla de bla. MIke sells car, old out yer 'and.... Bobs your uncle. No faked jeopardy, no scripted crap, just enjoyable to watch.

I have all of the series up to 12 on DVD. I buy them as soon as they become available.
However, if this latest series 13 continues in a similar vein as the first three episodes, I cannot see myself wasting my money buying it. The new format is not good, way too much Mike and too little ED - and way too much cringe-worthy scripting.

I feel exactly the same... hopefully the UK-based series later in the year will be back on form. However, if this latest series 13 continues in a similar vein as the first three episodes, I cannot see myself wasting my money buying it. The whole thing is starting to look and feel a bit tired IMO and they need to look at re-vamping things.

rest of it was awful. Its becoming predictable and boring
In fairness though, there are only so many things they can do to a car and I think they've done them all. rest of it was awful. Its becoming predictable and boring
On Fast n Loud they take a different tack - you get Aaron saying stuff like "we're using standard Gas Monkey stuff here; stance, brakes, engine. We're using the <blah blah> because it's tried and tested for this vehicle and we know it works..." and then they concentrate on the particular setbacks they had or the extra fabrication they needed. Whereas by the nature of Wheeler Dealers they would instead have to be a little different. And the trouble with that is that you can only be different so many times before you exhaust all options.
I don't know what they way forward on this is, but clearly the well is running dry for WD.
