It can't be far away. A trailer has been released for series 4 on Facebook. It doesn't give anything away however.

I've really fallen in love with this series without really meaning too, I've only seen a couple so I guess I've got a lot to catch up with.

This and that one about the bloke with the big sideburns who puts jet engines on boats and the like.

pleased about that.

It is the best car programme about by a square country mile.

I like the mechanic but the bloke with the mouth is more than a bit irritating.

Yes, Fuzz Townsend is an enthusiast, not sure about the other presenter

Yeah he did a series of Fifth Gear a few years ago, in one of it's various guises. I remember 2 things about it, 1 he was irritating in it, 2 he wore the same odd turned up jeans with a funny liner in every episode, which lead me to think they shot all his links for the series in one go.

I'll watch it, but I'll use the FFWD button on all the sob-story stuff and on most of Tim Shaw's bits.

In the last series, I warmed to most of the "back stories", as I believe they are called, apart from the Sierra Cosworth chap who just struck me as bone idle.

Maybe I'm just a heartless but I really couldn't give a st about the tales of family woe. Everyone gets cancer and dies in the end, they're not special. I'm just watching for the cars.

I suppose they put the sobs in to make it a show for both sides of a partnership in the same way they put bobbly boobs in kids films to keep the dads onside.

I have to admit I do share your sentiments but adding the human side does expand the audience base.

When you've taken out the sobs and the irritating one there's not much left. Many years ago I think it was on Discovery I used to watch a bloke who I think was a doctor building various kits, including a cobra and a helicopter. It was really interesting, no sobs or irritating ones in sight.

I remember it well. Mark Evans, think he was a Vet. A car is born was the Cobra. Then he did a plane is born which involved him getting his ppl.

Mark Evans, a former vet, I think. A Car Is Born.

Thanks for the heads-up.

Looking forward to a new episode... IMO 'Workshop Phil' is the star of the show. Cantankerous old git, but he does make me laugh.

I remember those as well - I came to it part-way through him shortening a Range Rover for reasons I missed. They re-showed them all on something like Quest a couple of years back, there's a helicopter one as well, and an MGB restoration. I think he still has veterinary connections, I've an idea he was something high up in the RCVS recently.

I also FF through the annoying bits of Car SOS as I ended up doing with For the Love of Cars, but it doesn't leave a great deal to watch.
