You're probably right - my sense of humour certainly isn't to everyone's taste smile

I did harbour an intense dislike for the man myself at the start. His macho alpha male persona seems to have faded though - I think the humiliating failure of making the beds in a day saw to that.

Yes, I suspect that's why they are excluding anyone with any idea of how to exploit the most obvious food source on their doorstep.

Personally, I think they should have picked somewhere with more non-lethal annoyances, for the amusement value.
The woman doctor doesn't seem to be doing a whole lot of doctoring either - not to mention telling her team that the stagnant water was safe to drink even after it was obviously slowly poisoning them. On the other hand, she seems to be the focus of a lot of potential romances so definitely earning her keep as far as the production team is concerned.

I have to wonder why they chose to go around the coastal rocks when out on their food/resource hunting expedition. They were supposed to be exploring the Island looking for new food sources - that means going inland where the resources are going to be. Clambering along the coastline only makes sense if you know where you are coming from and where you are going to before you start out, you are sure it's quicker than going through jungle and you know that the route is safe. None of these conditions were true yet they were recklessly ploughing ahead into ever more unsafe coastline, while supposedly desperately short on food and in poor physical condition.

Bonkers - I'm sure the production team must have an 'inside man' or two like last year so why were they not stopped?

mAYBE the inside man is the muslim or the lovesick teenager...or one of the other completely ill-prepared people? biggrin

Love the love triangle 'twixt the doc the teenager and the taken man.

The embedded camera crew are participants, but aren't they also employees?

Another thing - how hard could it possibly be to knock a still together for seawater? Then they'd have clean drinking water and salt for preserving the stuff they're failing to catch!

The whole point of the mini-expedition was to locate possible food sources in the minimum of time - they only had the water they were carrying, and no fire or camping equipment that I could see. I think he got frustrated because he could see that the whole plan was falling to pieces. Some of them were clearly out of their depth with any sort of rock traversing.
Exactly. They should have been sent home, not encouraged to speed up and increase chances of injury. The fella was a complete fkwit, I didn't see the end but if his urging was responsible for any injuries he'd deserve a good punch on the nose in my eyes. Worst thing is to have leaders who are fkwits. biggrin

What a bunch of supremely lazy and clueless morons!

Watching this on catchup and if the producers hadn't have planted the net, shark and Turkey, this lot would be doomed.

I thought that was quite funny to be fair.
I didn't see it but it sounds very funny. He does seem to have lost his knobhead persona to me, while Erika has become close to insufferable.

I'm a bit confused by the editing tonight. The ambulance helicopter appeared to land and take off on a large beach which had no apparent connection with the inlet where the accident happened. Did I also see a fishing boat on that beach? It didn't look like their rib.

PS. There are wild animals on the island, and all animals need water. The obvious place to hunt or set traps would be near their source of fresh water, yet they don't seem to have grasped this.

The whole thing does seem to be poorly edited.

when jockey lad fell off the cliff and broke a nail it cut to the main group who were concerned suggesting the expedition should be back by now...

I thought it was a 2/3 day expedition and the fall was clearly on the first day...

Conveniently placed turkey?

Also that shoal of fish was clearly placed there!

And doctor big bollo## definately cut his leg on purpose so he could demonstrate how hard he is.

To be fair editing it all from their cameras must be pretty difficult. You'd be trying to stick it together after the event, when you yourself weren't actually there.

By the way, I want to go on the 'Island' diet - all the blokes look in great shape now, like humans are supposed to look. Apart from prison bloke - how can he retain his weight?

Yeah, you never see much of certain people and it's been the same in the previous series too. You get to the end of the series and there are people there who you don't recognise because they received zero screen time. I assume it's the people who just went about business and got on with things without throwing a toddler tantrum every day.

The barmaid catching the turkey could not have been more obvious last night, you could see it coming after about 10 minutes. Clearly more editing rubbish though as the sequence of events was clearly contrived...

Boys set lots of traps - fail
Girls ask to set traps (get shot down??)
Girls decide to go and set a trap and a shown to be a bit inept at it
Girls magically catch turkey
Everyone extremely happy
Boys comment that it was good she caught it ???
Boys comment that she's setting so many traps for weeks with no success????

As for the helicopter, they obviously didn't have any footage of the fella being lifted off the beach so just showed it landing/taking off from the base island for the production crew I guess. Still a bit pants.

What's happened to the net they successfully managed to anchor to the sea bed just off the camp beach? No mention this week, and a shoal of fish managed to come into the shallows without having to negotiate the net, apparently.

Indeed i was wondering wtf they were all playing at trying to jump on-top of the fish in the surf when they're meant to have a proper fishing net.

All this moaning and nit picking and you all still watch it! Turn it off if it's that crap. Personally I quite enjoy it for what it is - entertainment, they can't just leave them on their own for a month and return to pick up the bodies! I would love to see 16 PH alpha males put on there with no help, I predict the outcome would be very much the same.
