If Line of Duty can be characterised by the words - plausible, well written and acted, gripping. Then Marchella could be characterised by being the exact opposite.
Implausible, poorly written and acted and tedious. Surely there has to be something more to a Police drama than an open-ended string of red-herrings?
I suppose the greatest implausability is that Police recruitment procedures would select a minuscule schizophrenic, with paranoiac tendencies. Who quit their job to raise a family with her wealthy husband, yet gets reemployed within a few moments of her choosing.

I think you could apply the same reasoning to Line of Duty, has had some plot holes in it, you could drive a tank through. Still enjoyable though.Implausible, poorly written and acted and tedious. Surely there has to be something more to a Police drama than an open-ended string of red-herrings?

Must confess I have gone from intrigued to rather bored with this. There seems to be a never ending procession of new characters being introduced but because the writer doesn't want to give anything away there is no way of tying them into the plot, if there is any plot. And... why did the running chap wet himself? How did that contribute to the story and if not why was it in there? I've almost forgotten about the lad who was watching the porn, remind me what happened to him? Oh don't bother!

Yeah pretty much my thoughts, to much going on now to ever think "ah I now see why x was saying that to y and then z did that" type thing at the end.deltaevo16 said:

FWIW this seems to be the difference, we have had 4-series and in each one, episode, by episode, the plot has ratcheted in a methodical and compelling way. While we postulate how the series might end on Thursday, I honestly have not got a clue and am spellbound by what might transpire. Edited by rdjohn on Wednesday 27th April 12:36
