so unless I've been a total spud we've got a number of unaswered Q's:

who shot the cabbie, and why?
what happened to the cabbie's brother (the illegal) after he threatened M?
why did M move the body?
what's causing M's blackouts?

I've also been watching 'Five' which while trying to be similarly convoluted at least has some likable characters and isn't trying too hard to be 'edgy'

Terrible, but watched it all. The body on the bed made my Mrs jump out of her skin!

Too many random links and unanswered questions. No redeeming characters at all.

Artistic license taken to the extreme.

We enjoyed The Five. At the end, they even explain everything so there's nothing hanging. Marcella was the opposite, quite a mess.

I get the impression the writers ran out ideas at the end and decided to leave lots of holes to take into the next series which they'll hope are forgotten and never be answered. I remembering similarly first watching lost many years ago and finally realising there would never be a conclusion to the plot and it became ever more obscure. Don't think I'll be watching the next run of M tbh.
4/10 in my opinion.

Seriously Mr Weasel, do yourself a favour and stop there. It's just preposterous and totally unrewarding.

There are no redeeming features.
Managed to squeeze episode 5 in earlier today. There are just too many plot strands now but I can't stop now. I have to see it out...

smile But there are only 3 to go...

The shots of Edgware Road are getting a bit tiresome. Every time I see that shot of the fly-over, I immediately think about the Hilton Metropole as it's my usual hotel when I'm working/staying in London.
London appears to be deserted. There are so few people in every scene. The largest number of people in one place seems to be the investigation team office. I get the Scandi-drama theme but it's just not realistic for London.
I'm even tired of Anna Friel and her duck beak pout.

biglaugh I've also got 3 more to watch on my Sky box but can't seem to raise the enthusiasm. Still no worries checking on this thread because no one seems to know what's going on even now it's ended.

p.s. I heard on the radio that "Anna Frail has confirmed she'd be up for a second series of Marchella." I wouldn't bother if I were here.

We've just watched it all on Netflix. I do find Anna Friel to be rather attractive and would like to have seen more of her.

The plot? Full of holes and pretty much as summed up succinctly by Smollet on page 1.

I think I saw an advert promoting a new series of this in early 2018.

Started watching this on Netflix, after watching Unforgotten, Happy Valley and Line of a Duty I was quite hopeful but the first episode was disappointing.

Why would a police officer carry the full case file for a serial killer around with him, then leave it with an ex police officer?

Why would that ex police officer have at her home more case files when they are the property of the force concerned?

Another case of a major female character being gratuitously violent to her hubby because of an argument and he told her he did not love her anymore....... once again suggesting being a domestic abuser is fine as long as it’s the woman abusing the man,,,,,... plus she’s a stalker. And that’s just the first episode!

I’ll stick it out see if it picks up.......

I won’t bother. The shrieking frenetic irrational behaviour of the lead character put me off for life.

I thought I would refresh myself with series 2 but to be honest, I gave up, so I probably won’t bother with series 3.

Sums up my feeling also.

Unfortunately, my wife is responding to all the guff, plugging the new series. frown

Just noticed that the first two episodes of the new series are being shown tonight, one after the other.
