Hi all.

I keep a journal of things my daughter does though her childhood and will at some point turn it into something for her to read when she's older.

From this and the "Films i Watched this week" thread i got to thinking about great films not only from the time since she was born (2008) but even before that, our current classics.

So, dear PH. I'd love to hear what you think she would maybe enjoy as she approaches the 12, 15, etc.

D.

Difficult question, who knows what she will like in 6-10 years time. My daughter is the same age as yours and her interest changes each week.

The list of proper, timeless classics is long. How many films released in the last few years are going to be classics worth watching in another 10 years?

Perhaps a list of some all time greats from many years ago. Films that she will not have heard of because they pre-date her by some margin:

Casablanca - best film ever made, everyone should watch it.

Godfather Trilogy

etc

Surely the point of doing this would be to pass on some of your own personal favourites and fatherly ideas of things you think she would enjoy. Why would you want to give her a list of films recommended by IT workers on a car website?

I've been thinking along the lines of when my now ten year old daughter will be able to watch films that I like, she has seen the Harry Potter series, the original Star Wars trilogy and the Indiana Jones boxset smile will have to bide my time before I let her watch any of the Monty Python films and The Blues Brothers smile
