Laugh out loud indeed
This program contains all the evidence you need to pass a new law allowing normal motorists to blow up Caravans on first sight (should you happen to be held up by one!).

If the guy with his mum is 44 years old. I've got a hell of a lot of decline to look forward to in the next 13 years!

This is ridiculously funny. Even speaking as a caravanist (runs and hides), the highlight for me was when the supposed expert managed to rip the back of his own caravan off.

One of the best things I've seen on TV, everything we already knew about caravan owners!

I did find myself drawn to older camper vans though.

I posted a heads up in the Tents, Caravans & Motorhomes sub forum because I thought it the best place to post.

Anyway, as I said in the above link:

More innuendos than a Frankie Howerd film!

I've only speed watched, but it was a ridiculous program. And what someone who relies on his motormover was doing there I do not know.

Not that impressed with the build of the damaged caravan either. Considering it's a long van it's going to be susceptible to that type of grounding. You'd hope it would not just fall apart!

Especially as it was used to store his £1000 of Wedgewood china.

Sadly in my experience these people are not atypical of Caravan Club members. I'm a member. but struggle with some of the regimented rules on sites.

It does get me a useful discount for Le Mans though....

I suspect that these "finalists" have been selected for their entertainment value, but I'm actually rather enjoying this. My first viewing, and then only because of its appearance on Gogglebox.

One thing struck me - each time they complete a challenge, there's none of the typical modern game show points awarding "....and the winner is...... long, long, long unnecessary pause....". This is a proper documentary done in am adult style, no mouthbreathers watching.

I love the guy and his mum who turned up in case they could take over if someone couldn't go on. Also it was interesting that most of them couldn't read a map. I went camping as a kid and navigated my dad all over the UK from the age of 8.

PS has anybody ever seen interior fabric in a caravan/motorhome which wasn't some sort of remnant from a factory which closed in 1970?

It was the miniskirt and boots that did it. biggrin

ETA: A lovely couple and a well deserved win, IMO.
