Anybody else watching?

I love it. Nice to see a good detective show. Maybe the fact it's Australian, maybe the fact that it has my favourite actor, Guy Pearce, maybe the writing. Love it, Guy is such a dishevelled piece of crimpled paper. Makes Rockford look like Rock Hudson.

Just thought, he's as crumpled as COlumbo...brilliant.

Yes.

If you've watched any of the Underbelly series then you'll recognise half the cast.

The 3 earlier TV Movies are available on the Sky Box Sets thingy as well.

Smiler.

Really enjoy these stories.

It's a bit naff that this is now a series rather than the previous format (each story being feature length).

Also see the cabinet maker character still features albeit with a different actor after the original chap died. I'd only seen him in one thing prior to this, playing the character Kern in Cross of Iron.

The Underbelly comment made me chuckle, "Bob Trimbole" indeed.

Wasn't sure on the cabinet maker. But I like the new serial length story.

Loved Underbelly, particularly Season 1.

Am I right that Jack Irish is up to Season 3 already? Not sure how I've missed this one.

This last season wound up too quickly, it is as if the last episode arrived and the writers thought sh!t, we have to finish the story in 58 minutes and it was just too neatly compressed.

Overall good series though.

Watched it. Very good, maybe a tad rushed.

Missed the Mergano thing.

Just finished the last episode and thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing. So much better than a lot of British TV these days.

About to start at the beginning of Season 1......

I may not have been paying enough attention, but I have a related question:

Why, if he was involved in the whole conspiracy, did the Beardy bloke from the office keep giving Jack information?

Not sure about earlier, but I guess at the end, he thought he was sending Jack to his death.

Really enjoyed that although the "chair" reveal was somewhat deflated.

Are they doing any more?

Really wouldn't want the part of Charlie Taub though.
