I pretty sure lots of holiday makers have driven further than that in one go! Ardeche south to Avignon and then back to Shropshire in a Mondeo with two bikes on the back for instance.

Is it true that the new Rolls uses Satnav information to select the right gear for the road ahead? Interesting.

The tech has been around for a while. Merc Actros HGVs have had something like that for a while. Even had radar cruise that would brake to a stop and set off again for you. Now that is probably a bit bum twitchy in an S- Class, but trying and trusting it in a fully laden HGV was a bit terrifying!

Not a bad episode, RR stuff being the highlight if I ignore the continuity errors.

This has been around for ages. The auto box gets info from the nav about the terrain ahead and reacts accordingly.

I know it's heresy on here but I enjoyed that. MLB is a good presenter and I love the new Dawn. Such an imposing car.

ste IMO. E10S thing was ugly Evans predictably not very good reviewing or driving it.

1st RR feature was very good, MLB just seems to be at ease and comfotable. A lot more endearing than any of the others on the show. Good until the cringey bit with Evans moaning, and it was painfully obviously he was reading off autocue.

The M2 was nice, would liked to have seen more on the RS3 though, not a huge fan of Harris but felt sorry for him having to do that stupid headwear bit.

Didn't watch SIARPC

The Jag bit was just a bit pointless, it was so obvious he didn't just drive it straight into the studio and at the end of the day it's not a huge journey.

And I got the feeing the second bit was just to massage CEs ego about his old Roller...

Just watched the latest of the new Top Gear. Might be unfashionable to say it, but I actually enjoyed it, and for the first time ended up watching all the way through. Could they be getting into their stride? Matt LeBlanc was entertaining, Chris Evans less shouty, cars interesting... not bad at all. Given I didn't watch any of the last series with Clarkson et al - just fed up with how repetitive and silly it had become - it's actually an improvement. Wow, second big surprise of the week...

I came on here to say that. Coincidence theres a programme full of British cars and then that plate?

The Dawn was lovely though. I don't think it was too flashy, other than its size there are a lot of lowly cars that 'pretend' to be much more blingy.

I enjoyed that - the RR segments were really well shot.

It's odd how many posters are watching something they claim not to like!
