Well, I enjoyed that. I thought Matt le Blanc's Porsche feature was the outstanding piece of the entire series. He may be an actor, but he delivered his lines perfectly and it was superb. Well written, informative, and funny too.
I gave Star in a Rally Car bit a go because I like Greg Davies but after 20-30 seconds I just had to fast forward, as Chris Evans was just too gratey and shouty. I think there is just something about the acoustics of the hangar studio that is fundamentally incompatible with his voice, as it was far less bad on his filmed piece about the resto-mods.
Overall, I felt like the series was just getting into its stride and now it is over, which is encouraging for the next series.

Enjoyed it again and really feel it has found its feet (although still expect it to develop further). Enjoyed all the pieces, thought the CE bit was as good as any of the others, maybe better but that maybe because the car/s interested me.
As much as I think MLB has proved better than I expected I am still not totally convinced as he still seems scripted, almost like he is playing someone who is playing the part.
Like the mix of presenters and could see how at different times each could play a more key role, I dont see the need to return to a format of three and in fact no longer want that.
Some still seem worried about CE's clothes, it doesn't bother me as I am not expecting fashion tips, maybe more important to mumsnet users?
Also didn't mind the rallycross bit this week, although agree it could still be better, PD is a worthy guest, he may be an actor but he is a proper racer too, although thinking about it, he probably used his acting money to finance it so not a petrolhead after all?
A big shock for the series final, despite CE's claimed ego he didn't demand that he one the jump, maybe not as big as some would like us to believe!

Eh? I don't understand that bit about Patrick Dempsey, money doesn't grow on trees. How else to pay for one of the most expensive sports in the world?AndrewEH1 said:

I am sure MLB never needs to work again, but am glad he took the job
I don't like him, but he has slowly evolved after each episode. When Chris Harris first appeared I thought this is the end of Top Gear, but actually he seems fairly down to earth.
The biggest time waster of the series is star you never heard of in a car.
By the end of the series it all seemed not to bad, and am looking forward to the next series.
It seems that they are starting to gel in parts. I feel Jordan and probably Sabine should go, or perhaps dump the daft 'Stig' character and use Sabine fully for that? Chris Harris seems a little more excitable on TV than in his videos, which I preferred to be honest, and Rory I quite like.
Overall shaky start, ok middle and decent ending. Definitely, for me, a case of green stuff emerging
I loved the point about the 911. It sums up everything I think about the ever increasing arms race with the various manufacturers.

I think it is from Hanna: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HBmwcuLa1as around the 1:10 mark. if you mean the part where they show the NSX under the lights at the beginning.
Thank you. It was driving me crazy.valiant said:
Reported in the media a little while ago that he only took the TG job as he had nothing else on as Episodes had finished and had no immediate plans. Not so much a pay cut as it's the only pay packet he's receiving. Whether he'll stay for a second series if something else comes long remains to be seen.
Quite liked him.
Keep him, CH and Rory and dump the rest.
There is a new series of Episodes due to start filming so we'll have to see how it all fits together. Episodes is usually a short run so no reason he can't do both.Quite liked him.
Keep him, CH and Rory and dump the rest.
