You must love Sky then. Such wonderful original content. And so cheap!
I don't watch very much BBC content at all. (Not much outside of the Olympics or occasional cycling or Triathlon event) But I'm not saying get rid of the BBC. I'm saying make them pay their own way. They run effectively ads between their shows now anyway.

Saying that,

Homes under the hammer? High art indeed. laugh

Whereas Sky Atlantic is essentially HBO UK. And that's just amazing TV. BBC cannot compete because they piss their money away because there's always some more on the way.

Friday not Sunday. Used to like TG when it was on over Christmas, they haven't done it for years.

Logical for a streamed program. Makes it a weekend event!

Not sure why people are so stuck on keeping the old £ presenter set-up, yes it worked for Clarkson but it doesn't mean you have to stick with it - embrace change I far preferred the extra presenters it should in time give more depth!
It's about the right number IMO. Too many presenters and you get into a situation where they don't get enough screen time, as we got with the Chris Evans Top Gear - nobody had a chance to really explain who they were.

Do you know the difference between broadcasting and streaming?

The Burma special was on this morning and it was extremely funny even without the joke at the end. I wonder how close the new show will be to the old format I am looking forward to it.

From the trailer linked earlier. Much the same. Whether that's a good thing or not, will depend on your pov. I'm inclined to think they had the opportunity to change a few things around. (to a degree Evans/LeBlanc had the same option, but chose not to) So we'll see after the first couple episodes.

Only it wont be current as it's being filmed weeks in advance. From what I can determine from the internets, the first episode fro South Africa is already finished. And we're still weeks away from it being shown.

I was watching that last night, I try to catch quite a few of these as they're always (well, usually, but I can't think of a duff one) a good watch. Another thing I've got on DVD and could watch any time I like, but choose to watch while they're on and I can never quite see the whole thing.

It was great fun and a I wonder if Hammond ever really recovered from it. How great would it be to drive an X120 all that way.

"Don't it always seem to go, that you don't know what you've got......"

I've got the terrible feeling that one thing TGT will lose is quintissentially British stuff like that.

Just watching it now. What I'd forgotten was the Stig 'revealing' himself as Michael Schumacher. Very poignant. frown

So a chap called Paul Hollywood turned down a role on Top Gear to go to Channel 4 with his popular cookery contest programme. Shame that, I think I would have enjoyed the Great British Brake Off....boom boom!

Does show that the BBC still don't have a plan for the show though.
