People actually liked MLB? Was I watching the same show? It was forced, awkward and he looked bored. He wasn't remotely funny or interesting. I was cringing at parts. Cinematography was classic TG (not a bad thing, at all) but I just wanted them to try something new, it was such a good opportunity to go into a different direction and not just attempt a rehash of the old format.
Really disappointed, I really wanted to like it.
Have a watch of Episodes to get an idea of what Le Blanc is about. Might make a little more sense then.Really disappointed, I really wanted to like it.
I really like the bloke.

Evans is anything but stupid. This would be an excellent way to show how contrived and tired the format was, before doing your own thing entirely. I'll watch the whole series with interest, and see how it pans out.
I like how Evans's fans can't actually believe how st it was.r11co said:
He doesn't. I've alluded to this before - Evans was allowed back on BBC radio because it meant he could be kept to a rigid program guideline and have a producer constantly talking in his ear to prevent him going off-track.
Evans on TV has been the same since TV-Mayhem.
Just been thinking about the show again - are we really supposed to believe that Evans can out-drive Sabine Schmitz? IMO that and the 'piece to audience' with Ginger being the first thing we saw rather than the trademark fade-in to the opening titles was pure Evans ego.
So, he's done his Top Gun fantasy in ep.1. How long do we have to wait until he does his James Bond, celebrity chef and championship golfer fantasies?
The alarm bells started ringing when Evans introduced the staff of his local curry house onto the show, a typical Evans stunt unfortunately (and totally cringeworthy)Evans on TV has been the same since TV-Mayhem.

Just been thinking about this new track and feel it's got a couple of major flaws.
1. The dirt sections will deteriorate over time meaning the comparative times are not a fair representation
2. Dirt will be pulled onto the main circuit which will compromise the other segments
Is it still used as a McLaren cars test track?1. The dirt sections will deteriorate over time meaning the comparative times are not a fair representation

I watched it, wanting to like it, but Chris Evans was just too shouty and trying much too hard.
I want to like Chris Evans - his enthusiasm for cars, his eclectic taste and his generosity in sharing his cars with others, but his presenting style jars.
As others have said, Mat Le Blanc's piece on the Ariel was very entertaining, and he was obviously enjoying himself and can drive a bit. His (lack of) rapport with Chris Evans needs work.
The Reliant bit was spoiled for me because we had old TG on one of the other channels just before, and it was the one with JC driving and rolling one around Yorkshire. It was just so much better.
The Land Rover vs Jeep bit could have been interesting with different challenges.
I will continue to watch in the hope that it improves.

3. The car should be a Mk2 Escort with a suitablely durable and loud power unit. 1. The dirt sections will deteriorate over time meaning the comparative times are not a fair representation

It was alright. If Chris Evans calms down a bit (he was much better on TG Extra) and they don't turn every piece into a "challenge" then I think it will be OK. I thought Matt LeBlanc was good.
TG Extra was enjoyable. Good items and likable presenters.
This is a massive programme to take over and the nerves were visible.
As a car fan I am pleased we now have this and the new TG/GT to look forward to.

Flop Gear in the Mail. Flop Gear in the Mirror. Flop Gear in the Sun. Strop Gear in the Star. It's not just PH.
And the last thing it needs is more of the personality bypass who is Chris Harris.
Kill it now.
Those same papers are forever championing Big Brother, Britain's Got Talent and The X Factor. This makes me feel even better for liking the new TG.And the last thing it needs is more of the personality bypass who is Chris Harris.
Kill it now.
