"The Brink" was likewise renewed by HBO only to be cancelled when the first season had finished airing such was the disappointment with the show.

Well I like the way the whole thing is progressing at such an odd rate.

Its like following a drunk person stagger home, never quote sure if hes going one way or the other!

Love the fight scenes. "CLONES!!!" smile

I like that Preacher is becoming more a dick, which you can only think is the Genesis taking effect maybe? The last ep left quite a few cliffhangers, so Im looking forward to the next one.

how do you do that spoiler thing? I wouldn't want give things away for those who haven't seen it yet.

There was a number of things left open though. The very last scene, hows that going to pan out. What happened after he came back with the extinguisher? When will the angels be back? What happened to his Dad? Will he be able to bring back the boy?

loads of things!

You mean the bulldozer and army of demolition men that turned up at the church right at the end?

Yep, that's a cliffhanger alright.

As someone who was a massive fan of the comics, the TV show is 'OK'.

It isn't particularly close to the original source but the characters are all there, though some are markedly different. Tulip, Sheriff Root and the two Angels just don't ring true to the originals and they have really played around with Jesse's backstory already. I didn't like Cassidy's portrayal at first but Gilgun's performance has really grown on me. Jesse is much less sympathetic than the comic version.

Even for someone who is familiar with the gist of what is happening, it's all pretty confusing and disjointed, whilst still being relatively slow moving. I don't know how a viewer who had no familiarity with the source material would find it.

On the other hand, the cinematography is superb, the characters generally work well and show promise and they're kind of just hanging around before the start of where the comics kicked off so it could still run with most of those plot threads. Since it has been confirmed for a second season hopefully it will all kick off at the season finale.

Anyone still watching?
I watched the latest one last night, it has got a certain something, I'm enjoying this and don't know why.

I am still hanging on and after watching last night I am hoping it is all going to become clear next week.

I've started reading The books again. Fished them out because I'm loaning them to somebody.

I've noticed one thing it's missing, the humour dark or otherwise. Root ignoring artseface and arsface mumbling with subtitles fancy a beer dad you betcha or am I not supposed to find that funny . Just don't understand how they could miscast root so badly.

Even the Angels are funny

Still watching, it's not bad but finding it a bit patchy.

The bits with The Cowboy are really nicely done, as was the whole fight thing with the regenerations and a few other bits but the main story is really dragging at times. Pacing is extremely variable, sometimes lots happens and other times nothing much at all, and not in a good 'building the story' way either.

Will stick with it as it's still better than a lot of stuff but I'd prefer it to be more consistent.

I like the Angels and I think next weeks show will mean those of us who have stuck with it scratching our heads will see an episode that makes the previous 9 shows worth while

I like the way it breaks convention with the pace and structure of the narrative; for me at least, mit makes it easier to just sit back and enjoy the journey. Certainly, not much is blatantly obvious about the plot.

I've really enjoyed all of this. Proper entertainment for adults, for the want of a better phrase.

The image of the dead Indians hanging from the tree.... eek

Casually ghastly isn't it? Nothing explained or mentioned yet. I notice at least one had been scalped too.

The retro scenes with the cowboy look like a Fields of the Nephilim music video.

Watched the last couple of eps last night. Loved it, some answers about the Cowboy and quite an ending. Looking forward to S2

Apparently season 1 is basically set up as a prequel to the comics so from here on it's meant to be closer. Which maybe explains a lot of what happened in that last episode.

Did laugh at the video call and the reaction to it. Plus where there was the explanation of how to work the phone as if it was really obvious and everyday.
