Great call on Top Secret!

Airplane, Naked Gun, Police Squad. How can anyone look into the distance and make me laugh out loud is a comedy genius! Take a posthumous bow, Leslie Nielsen. RIP
Who are you, and how did you get in here?

It's the fact he plays it dead straight that makes it all the funnier. Although it's hard to laugh at the OJ Simpson bits knowing what he did in real life

Some films mentioned here that I find really unfunny or mediocre at best? Strange how humour is different for everyone.

I always liked the Austin Powers films - Goldmember's 'Moooolllleeeeee' scene had me stting out a lung with laughter. Also the scenes from Austin Powers where Austin et al are backlit against a screen/tent looking like they are being rude are brilliant.

I thought Borat was OK if a little too contrived but Bruno in contrast was stupidly funny. The 'penis swinging scene' literally had me falling off the chair in the cinema. The chap in front of me couldn't stop laughing for so long I thought he was going to have a heart attack.

The Dictator on the other hand was gash.

I was despairing until Pesty mentioned Hotshots Part Deux.

Dim Sum fighting. The bit where the opponent spits out his own 'nads and says, "You win!"

Even the bit where Chralie Sheen ties his Rambo headband round his eyes and walks into
the tent pole.

And, of course, the sneezing mouse and the 'chicken arrow'.

Watched Grimsby last night - actually did have my crying with laughter like no film made in a while, well done slapstick reminded me of naked gun but perhaps slightly darker/British caper movie feel

The Hangover films for me.

Best is probably the scene in 2 where Phil gets shot and Stu just loses it taking a look at the wound smile

Happy Gilmore.

And i'm not even much of an Adam Sandler fan tbh. But the first time I watched it I was in tears!!

Ted made me giggle in places too.

My spare bedroom is a little cinema room. I've got a projector and a reasonably sized screen setup. It will sit four people max...

I had eight people around a little while ago to watch South Park The Movie. It was over crowded, and far too hot (ventilation is poor and projectors are heat machines... not to mention the eight fat blokes all piled in!) but all of us buckled laughing, from start to finish.

Not just a great movie, but a great experience to have with your mates. Howling from start to finish!

No carry on films?

Admittedly I thought they were great when I was a kid with all the innuendo, not sure if they have aged well enough to carry on getting away with it.

previous posts here are generally ( but not all ) modern trashy rubbish with little true humour.
They simply do not compare to the majority of the old Laurel and Hardy films and shorts.....

Carry on up the Khyber is by far the best and funniest for me... the scene where they try to shoot the advancing hordes and there is a vinyl record in the machine gun gets me every time...

great ensemble cast and the right balance of satire and british humour....

Jim Dale was one of my favourite carry on actors..carry on doctor also excellent.. not a carry on film but also great was Doctor in the House - james robertson justice - "you there, what's the bleeding time" "ten past ten sir...."

Try Grimsby. I went in with low expectations, not having read anything. I watched the elephant scene in growing disbelief, while laughing.
