Really enjoyed episode 3, I think the key is less Evans.

More of that please.

I enjoyed episode 3, not bad at all.

The ad I've just seen for next week looks a bit worrying.

The black car driving around London - what was that about?

Watched it this morning on iPlayer. Have to agree, I liked it last night and thought last weeks was good too. Same as quite a few others it would appear, I also fast forward through the SIARC section. It wasn't my favourite part of Jeremy Clarkson Top Gear, but, I didn't find myself fast forwarding through that on every occasion.

Are you talking about Rory and Chris? If so those guys have been on youtube for years.
Yes.
I don't really go on You Tube. Are they just car enthusiasts, professionals etc. They were very good, would like to see them on the show more.

Funny , I found Chris Harris in the new Ferrari very mundane, almost old top gear style, I half expected him to tell us the mpg, turning circle and load space literage, and the other chap in the focus was just cringe worthy, "this is not a focus, it's a blur"

Chris Harris is like a God to most motoring folk. Last time I checked his last vid had over a million views.

I agree. Both Harris and Reid were very beige. Monkey also looks like he need a couple of cushions under him in the new tdf.

I thought the first two episodes were better, only good thing about this weeks was there was less Evans.

I think working for such a huge corporation is going to take a little time for all of the presenters - Evans excepted - to adjust. They are all good at what they do IMHO, but it is probably a little over-aweing to be part of something so big.

Blimey, he'll be overtaking TG viewing figures if he trebles that!

Haven't watched yet I am working on a reverse spoiler theory.

So along with the recent star wars flick, I am going to wait til the end of the season, read all the spoilers then wait for a soggy sunday and watch the lot, then make up my mind

Much better. Probably because it had less Evans in it. One can hope they continue with less of him
Agree with that. Why not get rid of Chris Evans completely and replace him with say Jeremy Clarkson?
Because he was tired, boring and rubbish?
I think that would be regarded as a minority viewpoint.

Less Evans AND less interviews with so-called 'celebrities' would be the way to go IMO, but I'll not say more until I've watched the latest epidose.*

Still better than the first episode, but I find the Star in a Rally Car or whatever is painful and I had to wizz through that part, how did the producers get permission the blast through the centre of London in the Mustang?

Is that a criticism?
These things are subjective, I though it was ok and understand why it was included as part of the entertainment but maybe a little long? Not knocking the idea as its good to have a mix of things.

No just a question, how do you get permission to blast through central London like that?

Binge watched the first 3 epis + extra gear, I think what I find watching new Top Gear is that I can forgive the presenters/loss of C/H/M if we can see some pretty special metal like the tdf on tv with some quality production etc.

Presenters:
Evans - as already been said, weakest of the bunch, but has potential if he just stops being a tool
SS - cracking driver and not jarring like Evans but presenting/scripting doesn't really sit too well for her I think.
MLB - I like him, liked his Nomad clip and didn't seem forced with the pap' chase.
CH - how can anyone on PH not like him?
RR - never seen/heard of him before TG but seems alright and has his own style.

Observations - seems a bit forced trying to sell those 3 SUVs as their idea of a big 'tour' akin to old TG - just didn't think they were special enough although the piece itself was quite enjoyable to watch.
In the studio is where I think the lack of polish compared to old TG shows though, the slightly awkward pauses after a comment, no seamless cuts to different presenters etc - or maybe that just goes to show how scripted old TG was even in the studio!
SIAMC - wasn't a big fan in the old one, new dirt track etc is an improvement, and fun to see the actual driving/lap times but Evans shouting 'splash' and 'air' every time is cringeworthy. Also the repeated faceoff of first car/favourite car is just naff.

Apologies if above has already been covered, but can't be bothered to read so many pages

Pretty much bob-on with the consensus. One thing though..

That's not going to happen. Evans is incapable or unwilling to re-invent himself. Re-inforcing that point, once again he devises a faux-competition on his radio show this morning - England 'v' Wales in music. How topical, but exactly the same schtick he trots out annually during the Six Nations Rugby, even down to the artists and songs.

It seems that you are a quite a big follower of Evans. You have listened him for years even though you clearly can't stand him.

Just guessing but do you have pictures of him on your walls to remind you how much you love to hate him?
