My SIL organised a round the world yacht tour recently and Jordan was one of the participants in his boat. Compared with some of other owners he was apparently a really nice bloke.
Met him briefly twice, nice bloke. Nice blokes don't necessary make Tv presenters however.944fan said:
All very good but that doesn't translate into a watchable personna.
Agree with this, although (for me) I don't mind any of the current line-up in the format as is, ie. large number of presenters with only short appearances at a time, equally none really stand out as being someone I would want to see more of on screen that doesn't mean they are wrong for the show as it is or as it develops merely that they could not and should not be seen as direct swaps for CHM.What makes it difficult, is that at there best (not as often as people remember) the previous trio were exceptional! This was partly due to the fact that their characters complicated each other well, partly down to a well honed and practiced format that developed over time(not just one series) and good writing developed for them etc.

Thought this week's was the weakest one yet. It just doesn't flow.
I don't get all the PH love for Chris Harris either, he has very little personality at all. Dull
Totally agree with you on that.I don't get all the PH love for Chris Harris either, he has very little personality at all. Dull

I'm not a huge fan, either, but clearly lots of people like something about him.
That said, a lot of people here are clearly a LOT more obsessed with me as I can't see any appeal in Pimp My Pony Car or Dodgy Used Car Dealers (or whatever these programmes are called), but many seem to watch ANYTHING vaguely car related and rave about them.

He has a bucketload of passion though.
And petrol in his veins.
As, it would seem does Rory Reid.
Passion, about, cars.
All very good but that doesn't translate into a watchable personna. MLB has all that and is funny and watchable at the same time. And petrol in his veins.

All said, I like MLB on Top Gear and he really was the surprise in Episode 1.
Chris Harris I like for his knowledge, his approach and most importantly the sense that he's really enjoying what he's doing and that he wants us to as well.

Didn't see the first episode ( where it got slated) but have seen the last three. Evans aside(undoubtedly the weak link),It's got better each week, and the presenters seem genuinely excited that they're doing it, rather than the horrible smugness of the previous ones.
I'm also enjoying the fact there seems far more car time, and it's a bit more in depth technically.....ironically though, it's probably that very thing that is destroying the viewing figures, as the majority won't want that.

Well this weeks epidose was the first one I watched all the way through. That's right, I didn't fast-forward anything, although I was tempted to when I saw who was on the train. And they even had guests I'd actually heard of.
However, this will be the last time I watch until they replace all the presenters except Chris Harris and MLB.

Is this finally confirmation that MLB and CE don't get on? Or just another hatchet job on TG?
Agree with all this stuff about CH. Too many fanboys think they know him and carry on like he's a mate. No more so than C, H, or M or indeed any of the staff writers on any magazine (unless one of them happens to be your mate of course).
My favourite thing is "Harris can drive". WTF does that mean? Can't the others drive?
