From what I saw of the series, its clear Evans needs to go and I'm not one for jumping on the bandwagon, but when he is on screen its like he sees it as the Chris Evans show with cars rather than a car show that happens to have Chris Evans on it if that makes any sense.

I think the reason people have warmed to Le Blanc is that he is very laid back, chilled out and easy to listen to which is what you want on a Sunday evening show, whereas Evans is like a meerkat on ecstasy, if he could just calm down and lower his voice he'd probably be ok but history is not on his side, his delivery has always been like this and to be honest I think he was poorly cast as the shows anchor.

If the press are to be believed, MLB and Evans don't get along. Evans seems to be quite a difficult person to work with, recent allegations about bullying and offensive sexual obscenities seem to support that. Given that the BBC are supporting Evans 100%, MLB may not return. In that case, I will simply tune out.

In terms of a first series, I think it was a success. The new hosts are finding their feet. The old bunch took over a decade to find their groove. Apart from Evans, Eddie Jordan seems pointless and Sabine is culturally out of whack and is quite awkward.

for some on here they lost their groove after 10 years meanwhile they were breaking records which I guess the new series did as well with the lowest audience figures last night 1.9m.

Great, Top Gear's on tonight, and Euro 2016! Which one should I watch now, and which to record / iPlayer / etc...?

Would be a real shame if that was the case. I just remembered LeBlanc's little nod to Joey during the Porsche feature hehe

No different to the previous TG though - you still had the choice of watching live or recording. Their audience figures were 3 times higher though.

Enjoyed Chris Harris and the NSX even though the BBC seems to be feeding him amphetamines.

MLB was excellent with the 911R and really liked his reasoning and presenting style.

Didn't personally think that Rory Reid's Mustang review was as good as the Harris review of YouTube but it wasn't bad and he made some good observations.

Production values and attention to detail are not as good as old Top Gear resulting in something that doesn't feel as polished and as joined up somehow.

The Long Jump was pretty cringe-worthy - until the attempt at group laughter which was extremely cringe-worthy,

EJ: Why is he here?

Evans: What is he actually for? Is he to allow the BBC to rejoice in their smugness?
He had his moments with the MG in which he wasn't completely irritating but they were few - also doesn't seem to have a clue what Blueprinting actually is!
I've given him six attempts but he's still incredibly annoying in pretty much everything he says, does, deals and talks with those around him.

Get rid of him, Eddie, the ridiculously overlong and exceedingly uninteresting Star In A Rallycross Car section and there might even be a season two.

I have found the production side of things to be currently some of the best in the industry. There has been some fantastically shot scenes. The Aston and Tesla scenes I thought were right up there,if not the best I've ever seen.

I come from a sound production background and I've noticed that hasn't been ignored either. Again excellent.

However, I find the over use of animated graphics, highlights and buzzy sound effects (as in the NSX video) to be incredibly annoying.

Overall I have enjoyed Top gear immensely , certainly a flawed gem but it always IMO was.

Lets not mention the M2 review though, absolutely dire.

I actually enjoyed that, first episode was pretty dire but as the series went on it steadily improved, the last episode being the best of the bunch.

If they can just send Eddie Jordan out the door as well, and concentrate on the good four, the next series can and should be excellent.
